Crowned by the Man They Feared (Amelia and Jeremy) novel Chapter 519

Chapter 519 A Sweet Interlude

“You have no shame,” Amelia said. She had been kissed before, but she still felt a little shy.

“You’ll get used to kissing,” he replied, then leaned in and kissed her again.

“You’re getting addicted to kissing. You-”

Before she could finish, his lips sealed hers, leaving her no chance to say another word.

It was their first kiss since finishing the shoot.

There was no romantic setting, no carefully crafted atmosphere.

Yet the air around them felt sweet all the same.

Amelia’s heart raced. Her cheeks burned as her hands instinctively clutched the corner of Jeremy’s jacket.

Jeremy’s kiss was gentle and full of affection, as if he were pouring all his feelings into it.

After a long moment, he finally pulled back. Seeing Amelia’s flushed face, he could not help but chuckle softly.

“Why are you suddenly so shy? You were acting tough just a moment ago,” he teased.

Still unsatisfied, he leaned in again, brushing his straight, well-defined nose lightly against her equally delicate one.

Amelia shot him an annoyed look. “Who’s shy? You just suddenly—” Her voice trailed off, the rest barely audible.

Jeremy pulled her closer, resting his chin gently on the top of her head. “Amelia, no matter what happens in the future, don’t carry it all on your own. I’m here.”

Nestled against him, feeling his warmth and the steady strength of his heartbeat, Amelia felt her heart

soften.

“Mm. I know.”

She hoped that, just as Raymond had said, she and Jeremy could truly spend their lives together, side by side until the very end.

The next day, Jeremy had wanted to go to the hospital with her, but Amelia refused.

She knew how busy he usually was and did not want him to pile all his work up for later.

Besides, a hospital visit was not something he could really help with. She did not want to become overly dependent or fragile.

When Amelia arrived at the hospital, the Nygards came swarming toward her.

“Amelia, you’re here. Your dad sounded very confident. He said you can save your mom and Miguel. Hurry and go take a look at them.”

Chapter 519 A Sweet Interlude

“They’re counting on you this time. I believe you can do it.”

“I believe it too. After all, our Amelia is Nygard blood. You’ve always been capable.”

The ones speaking were all collateral relatives. Aunts, uncles, distant cousins.

These people were experts at reading the wind.

In the past, they had echoed Gianna or Marcelo, Miguel, and Maxwell, sneering at Amelia and mocking her with thinly veiled sarcasm.

Now that they knew she had real ability and was connected to the Currans, they changed their faces instantly.

Amelia ignored them and walked straight ahead.

“Amelia, don’t act recklessly. Only proceed if you’re confident. Don’t gamble with lives, understand?”

This time it was Maxwell, speaking with the air of an elder brother, clearly worried she might end up killing Emery and Miguel.

“Then you do it,” Amelia said with a cold laugh. “If you’re so confident and meticulous, you go save them.”

Maxwell was instantly choked by her retort.

Amelia was getting sharper by the day, her presence stronger and stronger.

He thought he should be able to talk circles around her, yet he did not dare say another word.

It was infuriating.

At that moment, Raymond arrived.

“If you don’t know anything and don’t understand the situation, then don’t make things worse,” he said sharply, scolding Maxwell.

Ignoring the relatives who had come to visit, he led his daughter straight toward the ICU.

Miguel’s condition was critical. After rushing over, Raymond’s priority was to see Miguel.

Amelia said nothing more. Treating it like a professional matter, she put on medical attire and headed to where Miguel was being kept.

The hospital director knew her and was well aware of her capabilities.

With Raymond having explained the situation, the hospital staff did not obstruct her. They allowed her free

access.

Not only that, they assigned her an assistant at the level of a department director.

When Amelia finally saw Miguel, she almost did not recognize him.

People were fragile, no matter how privileged their background. Once the body failed, even a wealthy heir

Amelia had already harbored certain suspicions.

Finished

Now that she had examined his physical condition on the spot, administered a specially prepared solution, and run tests using his blood serum, the conclusion was unmistakable.

He had been poisoned.

Fortunately, the episode had occurred while he was already in the hospital, allowing for emergency intervention during the critical window and the use of various medical devices.

Otherwise, even a miracle worker might not have been able to save him.

After nearly five hours, Amelia finally emerged from the intensive care unit.

A trace of fatigue showed on her face.

Maintaining intense focus while treating a patient for so long took a toll, and the moment she relaxed, exhaustion inevitably followed.

“Amelia, why were you in there for so long? Even surgeons aren’t in surgery that long.

“If you don’t actually know how to treat him, then come out already and stop wasting time.”

The moment she stepped out, Maxwell shouted at her anxiously.

His real concern was Miguel’s condition, but his words came out without thought.

And so, the very next second, Raymond slapped him hard across the face.

Straight across the cheek.

“If you don’t know how to speak properly, then shut up. Say one more word, and I’ll have you thrown out of the Nygards.”

Stunned by the blow, Maxwell snapped back to his senses and immediately felt wronged.

Being slapped in public, right across his handsome face. Did he not have any dignity left?

He wanted to argue back, but when he saw the look on Raymond’s face, as if ready to devour him whole closed his mouth and did not dare utter a single word.

Why did it feel like Raymond had changed recently, becoming fiercely protective, especially of Amel

Had he not been dissatisfied with his biological daughter before, barely acknowledging her at all?

Could it be because Amelia had now risen so high, gained real ability, and even formed ties with the Currans, that his attitude had shifted?

If that was the case, then Raymond truly was someone who followed the wind wherever it blew.

“Amelia, come over here and explain everything to me properly.”
