Chapter 549 Avenge
Maybe there hadn’t been enough time. Or maybe there were still clues they hadn’t discovered yet.
Either way, Amelia refused to give up. She wanted to comb through every detail that might have been overlooked
“Alright. I’ll go with you.” Jeremy replied without hesitation.
The place where Raymond had died had been sealed off for several days.
It was done to make things easier for the police to collect evidence-and to prevent anyone with ulterior motives from destroying or crasing the original traces!
Now that the caution tape had been removed, the air stall carried a faint, lingering heaviness.
Amelia stood in the open outskirts, her brows knit slightly as her sharp gaze swept across the surroundings.
They had come here countless times already, yet they ill hadn’t found anything useful.
This time, once again, they returned to the same spot.
And once again-nothing.
The only thing they had recovered was a phone Raymond had used while he was alive.
By the time it was found, the phone was already damad.
It was obvious someone had deliberately smashed it- struck it hard with a blunt object.
No fingerprints were left on it at all. It was clearly wipe clean on purpose.
Whoever did this was bold-someone with powerful barking and absolute confidence.
They hadn’t even bothered to properly dispose of the one. Instead, they left it not far from Raymond’s body.
Whether it was a deliberate provocation toward the Nyards and Amelia or an attempt to make the crime scene look less manipulated was unclear.
Regardless of the motive, Amelia had taken the phone back with her.
She stared at the shattered screen in her hand-along with a small hair clip-and fell into a daze once more.
“Your father was gripping this tightly even after he passed. It must’ve been important to him.”
That was what the officer in charge of the case had told her.
Amelia remembered the hair clip clearly.
It was the pink butterfly clip she’d loved most as a child
She never imagined he’d kept something from her childhood all this time.
At the thought of it, her eyes welled up again.
Now, whenever she couldn’t sleep-or before going to bed-she would take out her father’s broken phone and look at it.
She would also open that diary again, flipping through its pages over and over.
Even though the phone held nothing anymore, and even though she had read the diary countless times.
She still kept doing it.
Maybe this was her way of mourning him.
Amelia rubbed the slightly faded butterfly bow, the sadness in her heart not yet gone-when a chill crept into her gaze.
Her father’s death was no accident. The phone being deliberately destroyed yet left behind-the killer’s arrogance and composure sent a shiver down her spine
Regina. Esmond. Even Gianna.
She wouldn’t let a single one of them go.
And the boss behind them-no matter what it cost, she would drag that person into the light.
“Amelia, I’ve had people uproot all the herbs planted in that hidden back mountain near the village,
“They probably have more than one site. I’ll let you know as soon as I dig up anything useful.”
Tyler sent her a message, specifically updating her on is.
That patch of herbs had likely been planted under ords from the people behind Esmond for experimental purposes.
Those damn things-getting rid of as many as possible was the only right move.
“Good. Keep watching him. I’ll go check the Jordans melf later,” Amelia replied.
The Jordans’ old matriarch-and Floyd-had been hoping she would visit.
But with everything that had happened to the Nygards recently, they didn’t dare urge her, afraid she needed time alone.
So, if Amelia wanted to go to the Jordans, she could do anytime.
After Regina and Gianna had been brutally thrown out of the Nygard residence by Amelia that day, they didn’t dare return to stir up trouble there.
But peace didn’t last long. Before a few days had even passed, the two of them started throwing their weight around at Nygard Group instead.
Gianna already held three percent of the company’s shares.
On top of that, through underhanded means, Regina hd transferred nearly all of Raymond’s majority stake -over half of Nygard Group-into her own name.
She’d also absorbed Gianna’s shares.
Now, she was the largest shareholder, holding both decision-making and dismissal authority,
As the controlling shareholder, she moved fast and called a shareholders’ meeting.
Monday.
Regina arrived dressed in a sharp, fashionable business suit, four-inch heels clicking against the floor, makeup flawless and deliberate.
