Crowned by the Man They Feared (Amelia and Jeremy) novel Chapter 563

Chapter 563 A Debt We Can’t Repay

Josie was absolutely thrilled.

She thought to herself that there wasn’t a handsome guy she couldn’t win over.

Well, except for Jeremy. That man’s presence was way too intimidating-just looking at him made her nervous.

Only Amelia could handle someone like him.

“Here you go.”

“Perfect.” Josie smiled and started scanning his QR code.

So much for not using his phone.

But wait—she had assumed it was a contact QR code, but it turned out to be a payment QR code.

“You!” Josie was speechless.

She glared hard at this infuriating man.

He just smiled back at her, looking completely smug, as if he had seen right through her little scheme.

She was absolutely fuming.

Left with no choice, she reluctantly scanned his payment code and transferred a “generous sum” to him.

She paid up but didn’t even get his contact information out of it.

This was beyond frustrating.

“Mr. Ramley, I have somewhere to be, so I’ll leave you to enjoy your drink.”

“Sure.”

Seeing that he wasn’t the least bit awkward and was still smiling at her, Josie grabbed her purse in a huff and stormed off.

Hmph, this wasn’t over.

Once she officially started working at Nygard Group, she planned to confront him.

Watching her figure disappear into the distance, Harrison smirked and shook his head.

He didn’t take this little episode to heart. After finishing the last of his drink in one gulp, he got up and left as well.

At the Nygard Residence.

“How do I get Amelia to even look at me? I see her at the office now, and I try to get in her line of sight, but she treats me like I’m invisible.”

“Tsk, being treated like you’re invisible is pretty normal, isn’t it? Be grateful she hasn’t kicked

you out.”

In the living room, Maxwell sat there looking utterly miserable, unable to help but vent to his two brothers and brainstorm ideas.

Marcelo sat nearby munching on peanuts, not missing a chance to roast him.

It wasn’t just Maxwell who was struggling-Marcelo was suffering even more.

He saw his sister at the company almost every day lately, but she wouldn’t even spare him a glance.

Sure, they had messed up in the past, but he was the first one to wake up and realize it.

Why couldn’t she just give him a chance to make things right?

“Ugh, I have no idea what to do. I’m too scared to say anything to her directly in case it just makes her hate us more.

“But if I try to give her something, she’s loaded now. She doesn’t need anything material.”

Miguel was so stressed he was losing his mind. Every night when he closed his eyes, all he could think about was how to fix his relationship with his sister.

This desperate desire to reconcile far outweighed his hatred and thirst for revenge against

Gianna.

It wasn’t that he didn’t hate Gianna or didn’t want payback.

It was just that his guilt toward his sister and his longing to make things right mattered so much more than wasting energy on that scheming woman.

Rather than spending time hating her, he’d rather spend that time and energy figuring out how

to make it up to his sister.

“You two are both hopeless.” Marcelo tossed his peanut shells into the trash and raised an eyebrow at his two younger brothers. “Why didn’t you think about today when you were going after her back then?”

His words were harsh, but there was a hint of helplessness hidden in his eyes.

He set down the plate of peanuts, stood up, and walked to the panoramic window, gazing down at the endless stream of cars below. “We hurt her so deeply. Thinking we can patch things up with a few words or some gifts is just a pipe dream.

“We’ll probably never be able to repay what we owe her in this lifetime.”

Maxwell hung his head like a deflated balloon. “So what do you suggest, Marcelo? You came to your senses before us, so you must have more experience.”

Marcelo turned around, hands stuffed in his pockets, and paced slowly. “Experience? The only thing I’ve learned is that she doesn’t want to see any of us right now.

“You think wandering around the office every day trying to ‘bump into her’ is going to make her soften up? Wrong. It’s only going to annoy her more and make her feel like we’re haunting her.”

Miguel suddenly looked up, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. “So… you’re saying we should back off and stop bothering her for now?”

“Not completely.” Marcelo walked over to the couch and sat down, his fingers lightly tapping the armrest. “Pushing too hard definitely won’t work. We need to be strategic. What does she care about most right now? Work, right?

“Nygard Group is the empire Grandpa and Dad built. It’s also where she grew up. There’s no way she’d completely abandon it.”

Maxwell and Miguel exchanged glances, both seeing confusion in each other’s eyes.

Maxwell couldn’t help but press further. “Work? But she’s planning to bring in Josie and some professionals to run the company. She hasn’t even considered letting us help.”
