Chapter 565 She Never Gives Up
Miguel, who had been sitting quietly on the side, watched the two of them like he was enjoying a show, not bothering to chime in.
He thought to himself that Marcelo’s idea was pretty clever-let Maxwell test the waters first.
See how Amelia would react.
If Maxwell actually managed to win Patience back and it helped case tensions between them and Amelia, that would be great.
Of course, if everything went south, Maxwell could just suffer alone.
After all, one person getting hurt was better than all three of them going down together.
At Nygard Group.
“I will be appointing Ms. Hutton and Mr. Ramley as the Deputy CEOs of our headquarters. They’re both extremely capable, and I’m confident they’ll help me manage the company well.
“Of course, even though I won’t be here every second of the day, I’ll still be overseeing all core project development and handling any technical issues personally.
“I believe we’ll take Nygard Group to new heights together. Does anyone have any objections to my decisions?”
At the new round of shareholder and executive meetings, Amelia laid out her plans and decisions for everyone.
“No objections at all. This is a great decision.”
“Absolutely. Mr. Ramley just returned from overseas and is an elite professional. We’ve all heard about his track record, and we’re very satisfied.”
“Ms. Hutton is excellent too. She did such a remarkable job leading your entertainment company. We have no objections.”
As if any of those shareholders or executives would dare to object.
They had witnessed Amelia’s methods and capabilities plenty of times.
Especially at the last shareholders’ meeting, when she had those two-Gianna and her mother -thrown out. That display of power was still fresh in their memories.

Even Emery and the three brothers had voluntarily transferred all their shares to her.
That alone showed just how high her standing was in both the Nygards and Nygard Group.
They would have to be out of their minds to oppose
her.
Besides, they had all heard of Josie and Harrison’s reputations and their impressive abilities.
After the meeting adjourned, Josie and Harrison both came to Amelia’s office.
“I’m sorry. Things have been so hectic with the company lately that I’ve been swamped. I haven’t even had a chance to take you both out to dinner so we could get to know each other better.”
Amelia handed a cup of tea to Harrison, her expression apologetic.
Jeremy had recommended him, so naturally she trusted him completely and had no doubts about his abilities.
It was just that everything had been so rushed-she hadn’t even had time to grab a meal with him privately to get acquainted.
“Amelia, we’re already super close. No need to be so formal with me.”
Josie plopped down affectionately beside her, then couldn’t help but complain. “I’m also your highly paid right-hand woman now, so how come I didn’t get any tea?”
“Exactly-you and I are already close, but I still need to get to know Mr. Ramley better.”
Amelia shot her bestie an exasperated look.
She just said they were close, and now she wanted tea service too?
“Really, there’s no need to be so formal. But as for private dinners, that’s probably not necessary either. Otherwise, that jealous boyfriend of yours is going to blow up my phone.”
Harrison chuckled, cracking a little joke.
He had never known Jeremy was like this before. He had always assumed Jeremy was the typical alpha male type-cold and aloof.
He never expected the man to be not only completely whipped but also act like a lovesick puppy begging for attention.

Oh, and apparently he got jealous easily too. That was a new discovery.
“Ahem, don’t listen to whatever nonsense he’s been telling you.” Amelia felt a little embarrassed
now.
What had that annoying man been saying to people?
She was definitely going to give him an earful when she got home.
“Mm, just call me Harrison from now on. Or my full name works too.”
Otherwise, a certain someone would get jealous again.
“Alright.” Amelia understood completely.
Once everything was out in the open, the conversation flowed much more easily, and they quickly became comfortable with each other.
Smart people getting along with smart people was always effortless-they understood each other with just a few words.
Especially when their values aligned and they clicked so naturally, chatting became even more enjoyable.
After they had discussed most of the company matters and gone over everything that needed to be addressed, Josie seized the opportunity to speak to Harrison again.
“Mr. Ramley, now that we’re colleagues and will definitely be working together a lot, shouldn’t we exchange numbers?”
After saying that, she smiled sweetly, gazing at him with those big, beautiful doe eyes.
Her bright, lovely eyes blinked at him expectantly.
But he remained completely unmoved, looking back at her with that same amused smirk.
