Crowned by the Man They Feared (Amelia and Jeremy) novel Chapter 612

Amelia blinked innocently, smacked her lips, and said to Brielle, "When Gianna's identity was exposed earlier, you were shocked, angry, and clearly upset. But Sabrina didn't even comfort you at all. Isn't that kind of wrong? From what I can tell, Sabrina obviously already knew about this. What, she didn't even plan on telling you?"

Brielle's big eyes widened like saucers. She snapped her head toward Sabrina. "Is that true? Sabrina, did you know about this a long time ago?"

"I..." Sabrina had not expected the conversation to shift so abruptly.

Being dragged back to this topic caught her completely off guard, and she instinctively revealed more than she meant to.

Seeing her reaction, Brielle immediately realized she really did know. Her heart sank, and she felt so wronged that she almost cried.

"Sabrina, so you really knew? Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you speak up for me earlier? Do you also think Gianna is pitiful and want her to come back to the Jordan Estate?"

"How could that be?" Sabrina denied it quickly. "I only found out about this recently too. It's not that I didn't want to defend you. I was just too shocked at the time. I honestly didn't know what to say."

It was true that Sabrina had only learned the truth not long ago. But what made her uneasy now was that she genuinely had not planned to speak up for this idiot at all.

She did not think there was anything worth saying, and she definitely did not want to risk saying the wrong thing.

For her own benefit, staying silent as a detached observer felt like the safest choice.

"Brielle, do you really trust an outsider more than me?" Sabrina said gently, but the meaning was clear.

Someone like Amelia was not worth damaging their relationship over.

"Okay. I get it. Let's go. I'm tired and want to go back and lie down," Brielle said.

She did not argue further, but she could still see certain things clearly.

Especially when it came to Sabrina's personality, Brielle knew her better than anyone.

The day had already been exhausting enough, and now Sabrina had not even defended her.

It left her feeling awful. All she wanted was to go back and sleep it off.

"Alright," Sabrina replied. At that point, she could not say much else.

Before leaving, though, she found an excuse and took Floyd with them no matter what.

Amelia was someone she had to stay guarded against. She could not afford to be careless again next time.

This time, Amelia did not stop her and simply let her take Floyd away.

The trip to the Jordan Estate had still been worthwhile.

Some things needed time. There was no need to rush.

At the very least, she had successfully planted doubt in Brielle's mind about Sabrina. It was like planting a tiny seed of doubt inside what had once seemed like an unbreakable sisterhood.

Once the time was right, it would take root and grow.

To be precise, ever since Gianna's scheming facade had been exposed, he had probably started regretting everything.

That was why he kept coming to her, hoping to use her as a bridge to fix things with Amelia.

He cleared his throat. "Uh, nothing. I was thinking, if you're free, maybe we could grab dinner together?"

Maxwell looked overly eager, completely different from the man he used to be.

He had no choice. His brothers had been pressuring him nonstop, telling him to start with Patience and see if he could close the distance with Amelia.

He could not let them down.

Of course, on a personal level, he also wanted an excuse to spend more time with Patience.

These days, he did not just regret growing distant from Amelia. He regretted losing someone like Patience even more.

Marcelo and Miguel might only regret their strained relationship with Amelia. But Maxwell felt even more miserable.

It was one regret piled on top of another.

The more he thought about the time he had spent with Patience in the past, the more he realized what a jerk he had been.

He had sided with Gianna, and because of that manipulative woman, he had wronged Patience and her genuine feelings.
