Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 100

Luckily, there was still half a tank of fuel—enough, hopefully, to reach the mainland.

At this point, Andres had no choice but to reassess Maeve entirely.

When Michael had excitedly told him Maeve had split three massive stones on her own, he should've realized she wasn't ordinary.

Looking back, the signs were everywhere.

At the Imperial 1908, when Anya tried to hurt Maeve with darts, Maeve's reflexes had stunned everyone watching.

On the cruise ship, she'd dismantled Anya's reputation with surgical precision, and during the kidnapping, she'd stayed calm in a way most people couldn't fake.

And then there was the part he kept forgetting: last year, Maeve had gotten into Aethelburg University as an honors admit, majoring in biological sciences.

A girl like this, brains, nerve, skill, was never going to be the useless "wild nobody" Anya liked to paint her as.

The helicopter flew surprisingly steady. During the flight, Maeve even made contact with someone on the ground and confirmed a landing site.

When she ended the call, Andres finally caught up to the obvious. "You have a phone?"

Maeve glanced over. "Is that supposed to be shocking?"

Andres stared at her. "If you had it on you, why didn't you pull it out last night?"

Maeve said casually, "It was dead."

"And now it's not?"

She tipped her chin toward the device. "Special setup. In an emergency, it can charge off solar."

It didn't fully add up, but Andres—against his better judgment—let it go.

"Who did you contact?"

"Hans."

Andres had a dozen questions stacked up, but before he could ask, the helicopter suddenly jolted hard.

Maeve checked the panel fast, her voice as calm as if she were commenting on cloud cover. "Fuel leak. We might not be able to land normally."
