Before Maeve could go hunt Nancy down, Nancy took the initiative and sent her a taunting text:
"Watching your best friend lose everything because of you, do you feel guilty yet?"
Maeve replied with three words: "Just you wait!"
In the living room of the Fulton villa, the parents from both sides were discussing the wedding details.
Sitting in a quiet corner, Nancy stared at Maeve's "Just you wait" and let out a scoff.
Stealing the happiness of Maeve's best friend was the most fulfilling thing she had done all year.
"Declan, don't worry about the wedding details. Go keep Nancy company," his mother urged, visibly annoyed by her son's constant scowling.
He was about to marry Nancy, yet he couldn't even muster a smile. It was intentionally humiliating the Grover family.
Declan wanted nothing more than to murder Nancy right then and there; he had zero desire to entertain the bitch.
As Declan's father, Vincent Fulton was equally displeased with his son's passive-aggressive attitude.
"The wedding date is a bit rushed. The parents from both sides want you two to spend more time bonding before the big day."
Faye Grover smiled with maternal warmth.
"Declan, you and Nancy practically grew up playing together as childhood sweethearts."
"Now that you're both adults, why are you acting so distant from my Nancy?"
Declan offered a tight, completely fake smile. "In my memory, I've only met Miss Grover two or three times during my youth."
"As for growing up playing together, that memory simply doesn't exist."
Faye's smile began to fracture.
Vincent glared at his son with a sharp warning. "I told you to go keep Nancy company. Did you not hear me?"
Sensing the thickening tension, Declan's mother quickly intervened to smooth things over.
"Young people are just shy, it's totally understandable. Declan, listen to your father and go chat with Nancy."
Declan stood up and walked toward Nancy.
Watching Declan approach her with barely contained rage, Nancy's lips curled into a smirk.
