Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 1118

"Mom, I'm not feeling well. I'm leaving."

After a brief word to Mrs. Fulton, Nancy hurriedly exited the venue.

The downpour outside was heavy, and the thunder grew louder, shifting from a low rumble to aggressive cracks.

Maeve seemed terrified of the noise, instinctively shrinking into Andres's embrace.

Andres simply scooped his wife up into his arms and strode straight toward their waiting car.

Murray held up a massive black umbrella, shielding the couple as they settled into the backseat.

Under Nancy's bloodshot, agonizing gaze, the car sped off, kicking up a spray of rainwater.

If she hadn't messed up years ago, would she be the woman carried in Andres White's arms tonight?

The more Nancy thought about it, the deeper her grief and jealousy burned.

Why had she, a woman destined for a brilliant life, fallen so far into this miserable state?

And her so-called husband would never do anything remotely close to what Andres did.

Just then, a black sedan pulled up to the entrance.

When the door opened, Nancy saw a familiar face.

It was Landon Hart, a man she hadn't seen in quite a while.

The last time they had seen each other was when he proposed to her in the revolving restaurant.

So much had happened since then, she had almost completely forgotten about it.

Holding an umbrella, Landon walked toward Nancy with a warm smile.

"It's pouring out here, Nancy. Let me take you home."

Nancy was about to refuse, but realizing that Landon was the only pathetic lapdog left who still treated her well, a moment of pity washed over her, and she agreed.

Once inside the car, Landon buckled her seatbelt and drove off, speeding through the torrential rain.

On the way, Landon broke the silence.

"Nancy, why didn't you tell me about something as huge as your wedding? I should have sent you a gift for your big day."

Nancy gave a hollow, unenthusiastic laugh.

"There was nothing to celebrate. It was just an arranged marriage, purely a formality."
