Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 1125

Barton Grover was in a foul mood. Eva Yeager had vanished.

Ever since Claudia Beaumont had publicly humiliated and assaulted her, Eva had been recovering in the hospital. Their child had been temporarily handed over to a nanny.

Buried under a mountain of corporate crises, Barton hadn't visited the hospital in three days.

When he finally showed up, the front desk informed him that Eva had abruptly checked out.

Discharging herself while still heavily injured screamed foul play.

For days, his mother had been relentlessly pressuring him to eliminate Eva for good.

Barton had appeased her with empty promises, never actually intending to go through with it. It wasn't that he was madly in love with Eva, but after so many years, she was a comfortable, familiar fixture in his life.

Her sudden disappearance filled him with a sickening sense of dread.

Something terrible had happened to her.

"Daddy, where are we going?"

Staring at the road ahead, Barton answered his son grimly. "Home."

He needed to confront his mother and find out if she had ordered a hit on Eva behind his back.

It was also the first time Barton was bringing his son to the Grover Family estate.

Since his marriage with Claudia had completely imploded, he figured it was time for his son to officially claim his place in the family.

The mansion staff were busy when they arrived. Barton sat the boy down on one of the plush living room sofas.

Before heading upstairs, he gave a stern warning. "Sit here and wait for Daddy. Do not run around, and do not cause any trouble. Understood?"

Barton knew his son had Supermale Syndrome. The condition made the boy dangerously volatile, prone to extreme tantrums and violent outbursts.

But the doctors had assured him that with age, the symptoms would become manageable. Barton clung to the hope that his son would eventually grow out of it.

Barely waiting to see if Ryan had even registered the warning, Barton practically sprinted to the second floor.

Faye Grover was in her study, calmly reading a book. When her son burst through the door looking like a hurricane, a flash of annoyance crossed her elegant features.

"What are you doing here?"
