Mr. Q looked at Andres, his expression silently asking if Andres had leaked the information. Raven and Mr. Q were Andres's right and left hands, fluent in each other's body language.
Andres shook his head. "I didn't reveal a single detail about you before walking through that door."
The woman who had been denied an embrace from Andres offered a sarcastic smile. "Boss, even if you did brief her, we wouldn't be surprised."
Maeve ignored her snark. She fixed Mr. Q with a knowing half-smile. "Is that what you think, Quade?"
The moment that name dropped, confusion rippled through the room.
Raven frowned. "Who's Quade?"
Mr. Q's face paled, his expression shifting rapidly. He stared at Maeve. "How do you know my real name?"
His true identity and background were secrets even Andres didn't know, yet this young woman had nailed it effortlessly.
Maeve smiled with absolute confidence. "In this world, there is nothing I cannot uncover if I choose to look."
Murray and Hans silently exchanged appreciative glances. She was truly worthy of being the matriarch of the White family. With that kind of commanding presence, nobody would dare try to put her in her place.
Hans and Murray knew Raven and Mr. Q well. These were fiercely proud men who never bowed down to anyone.
They had respected their boss for years, so when he suddenly married, they wouldn't have acknowledged an ordinary woman as his wife.
People naturally respected power. If Maeve hadn't been strong enough, her title would have been utterly meaningless.
But Maeve never allowed anyone to underestimate her. Before Raven and Mr. Q could even attempt to test her, she had already established her dominance.
Andres murmured the name Quade thoughtfully. "The illegitimate son of the chairman of Skynet Group in Bayside City?"
He had just learned about Mr. Q's hidden identity today.
