Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 159

Across eleven games, Maeve had played support in almost every one.

Mateo had noticed too.

Maeve neither confirmed nor denied it. "Doesn't matter what I play. It's just for fun."

Elena didn't press. "You two helped me win Connor's ticket. Dinner's on me."

Mateo and Maeve were fine with that, and at Elena's suggestion, they went out for barbecue.

Andres, meanwhile, hadn't been idle.

Just like Maeve predicted, the moment news of Lincoln's death got out, Colter reached out again, asking to meet.

Andres had refused him several times already, but now that Lincoln had died in custody, avoiding Colter any longer would only make Andres look heartless.

So Andres accepted.

They met in a private room at an upscale restaurant.

Andres arrived with Murray and found several men in black stationed outside the door.

When they saw him, one of them bowed slightly. "Mr. Andres. Please—our boss has been waiting."

He opened the door for Andres.

Murray moved to follow, but the guard stepped in front of him. "The boss wants a private word with his brother. Outsiders can wait outside."

Murray's expression turned sharp. "You're asking Mr. Andres to go in alone?"

The guard smiled pleasantly. "Mr. Murray, that's an awkward accusation."

"This is a public venue. There are eyes everywhere. Do you really think our boss would do anything inappropriate to Mr. Andres in full view of the world?"

Murray started to argue again, but Andres lifted a hand.

"Wait outside. I'll go in."

The moment Andres stepped in, the guards closed the double doors behind him with a crisp click.

Hoping to secure her future through the child, the woman had shown up at the White estate with the newborn and demanded the family take responsibility. Caden—deep in his rebellious phase—had ordered her thrown out.

Not long after, she vanished without a trace.

Colter, left with no one, was taken in by the estate's steward and raised at the manor—at least given a roof.

He grew up believing he was the eldest son, that one day the White family would be his to run.

Then Andres appeared—and shattered that future.

After failing to seize control ten years ago, Colter ended up crippled, bound to a wheelchair.

Even his own sons never amounted to anything good.

He wore a polite smile, but inside, he hated Andres—the little wolf who'd stolen everything.

Colter accepted a cigar someone lit for him, drew in a slow drag, and exhaled.
