Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 160

"I didn't teach my son well," Colter said. "He ended up like this because he earned it. I can't blame anyone else."

"Still… he was my son. When I got the news, it felt like I'd been punched in the gut."

He sighed through cigar smoke. "I asked you here because I need a favor."

"Lincoln did a lot of unforgivable things. But by blood, he was still your nephew."

"Now he's been killed in a way that doesn't sit right. I won't dig too deep into who did it. I just want him laid to rest—buried properly."

Andres lifted a brow. "You want me to pull strings and get his body released?"

Colter met his eyes. "The case is being handled by Michael Perez. You're close with the Perez family's eldest. If you say a word, it shouldn't be difficult."

Andres nodded once. "I'll do what I can."

Colter flicked a look at one of the women.

She poured a drink and walked over with a bright smile. "On behalf of my godfather, thank you, Mr. Andres."

Andres didn't move. He didn't take the glass.

Colter laughed. "Andres, I forgot to introduce you. These girls are my goddaughters—Lina, Fannie, Hazel, and Luna."

He waved a hand. "Don't just sit there. Raise a glass to Andres. You'll be relying on his protection in the future."

The women poured more drinks, their eyes sliding over Andres with intent that wasn't subtle at all.

Lina, the most striking of them, rested pale fingers lightly on Andres's shoulder, her voice syrupy.

"A man as young and handsome as you… calling you ‘Uncle' makes you sound old."

She leaned in, bringing the rim of the glass to his lips. "Will you do me the honor of drinking this?"

Andres lifted her hand off his shoulder and stepped back, smoothing his jacket like he hadn't been touched at all.

"I'm a germaphobe," he said coolly. "I only drink from the hand of the woman who shares my bed. I don't drink from strangers."
