Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 262

So she'd slept less than an hour.

After getting up, she dropped a quick message into the small group chat with Jasper Jett and Naomi Lowell—letting them know she was fine and that the plan had failed for now.

Both of them replied with awkward, embarrassed little emoji faces. Maeve tossed her phone aside.

She wasn't interested in touring The White Manor as some kind of grand house attraction—but she was interested in the way the old estate had been laid out.

In the courtyard, they'd built an enormous observatory terrace. From up there, the entire property unfolded below like a diagram.

And Maeve noticed something genuinely interesting.

The layout of the gardens, the placement of objects at key corners—everything that had clearly been arranged for "energy" and protection—felt familiar.

Had Griffin designed this place?

She'd grown up under Griffin's instruction and picked up a few skills. Reading a property's flow was one of them. Griffin's style had always been practical: build the kind of design that lets the owner sleep without worry.

If The White Manor's layout really was Griffin's work, then it made sense the White family had stayed prosperous for a century without collapsing.

"Well, what a coincidence," a voice said behind her—strange, yet oddly familiar. "Running into Miss Vance here."

Maeve turned and saw Molly walking toward her.

Maeve glanced around once and, without an ounce of politeness, tore off the mask. "Coincidence, or did you come hunting for me? Anyone with a functioning brain can tell."

Molly hadn't expected Maeve to be that blunt.

This terrace was quiet and out of the way—Molly clearly hadn't come here to sightsee. Annoyance flickered in her eyes, but she kept a sugary smile glued to her face.

"You don't have to be so hostile, Miss Vance. You're the woman Mr. Andres brought back. Out of respect for him, no one would dare treat you with anything less than courtesy."

"I noticed Mr. Andres isn't with you. I thought you might be bored, so I came to keep you company."

"After all, Mr. Andres's guest is my guest. If you felt neglected, I wouldn't know how to answer to him."
