Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 284

Naomi was about to respond when her phone chimed.

She read the message and her face shifted. "Maeve… guess who died."

Maeve looked up from the lab bench. "Ansel Morales?"

She'd roughly calculated his end. If nothing unexpected happened, it would be within a day or two.

Naomi could only stare at her. Maeve's "predictions" were getting terrifying.

"It's from a friend of mine," Naomi said. "She works at the hospital where Ansel's been treated."

"I was worried the Morales family would do something to you, so I asked her to keep an eye on them."

"I didn't expect… this."

Maeve took off her protective glasses and mask, then shut down several humming machines without hurry.

"If I'm right," she said, "Ansel didn't die naturally. Anya killed him."

Maeve turned to her computer, and right in front of Naomi, slipped into the hospital's internal network like it was an unlocked door.

After a few quick operations, the screen switched to a live feed from Ansel's hospital room.

Luka Morales was on camera, gripping Anya by the collar and shoving her into the room.

"You're giving him that kidney," Luka snarled. "You can do it willingly or you can do it screaming."

Anya screamed, "Mom! Mom, help me!"

Isla glared at her, disappointment carved into her face. "If you'd agreed to donate sooner, your brother wouldn't have gotten this bad."

"Anya… you've broken my heart."

Anya tried to wrench free. Luka slapped her hard across the face.

"You vicious little—your kidney was the best match, and you used hacking tricks to swap your information with Maeve's!"

His eyes were bloodshot with rage.

"I'm telling you right now—if anything happens to Ansel, you're not walking away from it either."

Anya looked like she might explode. "Why should I give a kidney to that trash?"

"Do you know how much he stole from me growing up?"
