Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 394

Maeve didn't care in the slightest.

To her, diamonds and jewelry were just glittering clutter—useless things that couldn't buy what she actually wanted.

The more casual Maeve was, the more obvious Natalia's envy became.

Maeve caught the hatred leaking through Natalia's eyes and smiled, almost amused.

"Do you like it, Natalia?"

Natalia's heart lurched.

Of course she liked it. She wanted it so badly it made her throat tight.

Was Maeve… actually going to give it to her?

Vanity pinned her eyes to the stone. Pride tried to drag her gaze away.

Vanity won.

Natalia nodded. "I like it."

Maeve's smile turned wicked.

"Then hurry up and find yourself a rich husband."

"Maybe you'll get lucky and marry someone like my Whitty—someone generous enough to give you a pink diamond too."

Natalia's face went stiff, her complexion turning first pale, then flushed with humiliation.

Maeve was playing her. Openly.

Natalia let out an angry huff and stood abruptly.

"I need to prepare the next treatment," she said, and stormed out of the living room.

The moment she was gone, Maeve shot Ariana a pointed look.

Five minutes later, Maeve wheeled Ariana into her study at Azure Bay.

The room had excellent privacy—Maeve's one quiet sanctuary in the house.

She shut the door and got straight to it.

"Give me an honest evaluation. How good is Natalia's medicine?"

With no Natalia to perform for, Ariana dropped the "Mrs. White" act and answered respectfully.

"After these past few days, my legs have shown clear reflex responses."

"I've been seeking treatment for years. This is the first time I've ever felt any reaction at all."

"I don't know what method Natalia is using. On the surface it looks like acupuncture."

She aimed at the thrashing thing under her fingertip and pricked down with a controlled, gentle jab.

A thin line of blood slipped down Ariana's leg. Maeve worked with practiced ease, collecting a sample into a vial.

Then she cleaned and bandaged the wound.

Maeve stared at the blood in the vial—still subtly pulsing—and something clicked into place.

So Natalia wasn't some miracle healer after all.

She was using tricks.

Ariana sensed the shift in Maeve's mood and asked carefully, "Miss Vance… is something wrong?"

Maeve sealed the vial and gave Ariana an order.

"Tomorrow, find an excuse to go back to the main estate. Stop Natalia's treatments for now."

Ariana startled. "Stop… treating it?"

Maeve patted her shoulder. "Do what I say, and I guarantee you'll be on your feet before long."

The promise hit Ariana like a shot of hope straight to the heart.

"Don't worry, Miss Vance," Ariana said fervently. "I'll do everything you asked."
