Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 431

Andres caught a hidden meaning in Quinn's words.

"What do you mean, 'let her have a few days of peace'? Just how chaotic was Maeve's life before?"

Quinn gave a helpless smile.

"Some pretty bad things happened. It messed with her head."

"Not to scare you, but Maeve is currently walking a very thin line between sanity and losing it completely."

"She's only holding it together because she still has unfinished business."

"Once that string snaps, nobody knows what will happen."

"Mr. Griffin didn't have a choice. To keep her alive, he set up The Binding, hoping you could be her ultimate salvation."

Andres felt a growing sense of dread.

"So what exactly happened?"

Quinn shook his head. "I only know fragments."

"Only Maeve and Mr. Griffin know the full truth."

"Who are these enemies of hers?" Andres pressed, unable to hide his urgency.

"Too many to count. Seriously, you couldn't keep track."

"Do you not know, or do you just not want to tell me?"

Quinn's smile turned mysterious.

"Spilling secrets like that wouldn't do me, her, or you any favors."

"When it's time for you to know, you'll know."

"Until then, keeping your mouth shut and not prying is the best way to protect her."

Quinn glanced toward where Maeve was resting.

"You were right about one thing, though."

"That raw, unfiltered personality she showed today? That's who she used to be."

"She was always the life of the party—carefree, doing whatever she wanted, without a single worry in the world."

"Probably because she was so spoiled by everyone around her. Whether it was Mr. Griffin or..."

Quinn stopped abruptly, swallowing the rest of his sentence.

When she opened her eyes, she found herself tucked right against Andres' arm.

It took her a moment to fully wake up.

"Why are you in bed?"

Seven in the evening was definitely not his usual bedtime.

Andres lied through his teeth. "I fell asleep while you were sleeping."

It was no longer a secret that whenever they fell asleep at the same time, they'd end up in the same bed.

The truth was, the second Quinn left, Andres had gone straight back to the room.

He hadn't done a single thing all afternoon.

He had just held her, terrified that if he let go, she would vanish into thin air.

Only with her in his arms did he feel completely secure.

Maeve shifted into a more comfortable position against his chest and asked lazily, "Is Quinn gone?"

Andres twisted a strand of her hair around his finger and gave a soft hum. "Long gone."
