"Didn't I tell you not to come looking for me casually unless it's an emergency?"
Early in the morning, Landon Hart had just driven out of his estate when he spotted Natalia standing at his front gates like a vengeful ghost.
What awful luck.
Natalia stared coldly at Landon through the car window.
"If things hadn't reached a point of no return, I wouldn't be here."
The expression of the man in the driver's seat shifted slightly.
"What happened?"
Natalia's face was grim.
"Last night, Andres kicked me out of Azure Bay."
Although this was the Hart family's territory, anything involving Andres White required extreme caution.
Landon unlocked the doors and told her to get in before saying anything else.
Natalia didn't hold back.
Once inside, she gave Landon a brief rundown of last night's disaster.
Hearing that Natalia had completely botched the plan, Landon lost his usual composure.
He lashed out furiously, "Are you out of your mind? Confessing to Andres at a time like this?"
"Did you forget that the terrifying Maeve Vance is right there beside him?"
Landon had never imagined the situation spiraling into such a cliché melodrama.
His ultimate goal in having Anya plant Natalia at Azure Bay Villa was to use Hexcraft to control Andres and his mother.
Natalia had confidently sworn she would complete the mission.
Yet, after only a few days, she was tossed out onto the street along with her bags.
He had seen stupid people before, but Natalia's level of incompetence shattered his expectations.
Natalia argued back fiercely.
"I already told you, the problem was Mrs. White."
When her senses finally returned, she was not only accused by Maeve of confessing her love to Andres, but she had also received a brutal slap.
Landon couldn't care less about the specifics.
He only cared about one thing.
If Natalia had struck out with Andres, it meant this pawn had outlived her usefulness.
There was no point keeping a useless piece on the board.
Landon silently began plotting how to quietly eliminate her without a trace.
As if sensing the lethal intent in his eyes, Natalia scoffed.
"Mr. Hart, you wouldn't happen to think I'm a broken toy and want to get rid of me, would you?"
Natalia liked playing the role of a naive sweetheart, but the real her was anything but.
Landon quickly masked his murderous thoughts and smiled. "You're overthinking things."
For a fleeting moment, he really had wanted to kill the idiot.
