Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 471

Stepping out of the elevator, Simon Grover turned to Maeve Vance with a proposal.

"It's been a long day. Would you like to grab dinner together?"

It was only then that Simon realized he had completely forgotten to eat lunch while overseeing Maeve's trial.

Not only had he skipped a meal, but Maeve hadn't eaten either.

Realizing it was already five in the afternoon, Simon suddenly felt the emptiness in his stomach.

Right now, he desperately needed a delicious meal to satisfy his appetite.

And if his dining companion was Maeve, the meal would be infinitely more enjoyable.

He had so many questions for her.

Like the decryption formula for the R-Virus.

And now that she had entered Lab C, which project did she want to research independently?

After starving all day, Maeve was naturally famished.

However, she had absolutely zero interest in sharing a table with Simon Grover.

"I have plans, so I won't trouble Mr. Grover with the expense."

Simon could clearly feel her resistance toward him.

"Are you worried that a certain someone might misunderstand if they found out we had dinner?"

Maeve casually slipped a pair of sunglasses over her nose, perfectly blocking out the glaring afternoon sun.

"I consider that basic respect for one's partner."

Simon chuckled.

"Is there any chance he might be having dinner with another woman right at this very moment?"

A honking horn interrupted their conversation.

Across from the office building sat a stretched luxury car.

Andres White stepped out from the backseat and waved in Maeve's direction.

Maeve offered a dry smile. "My ride is here."

Truthfully, they didn't have plans.

When she walked out of the lab, she saw several messages from Andres asking when she would be done.

"I'm very much looking forward to fighting side by side with Miss Vance in the days to come."

As soon as the words left his mouth, Simon caught a fleeting flash of murderous intent in Andres's eyes.

Interesting!

He had assumed Andres was just playing around with Maeve.

He never expected this arrogant man to actually catch real feelings.

Andres didn't waste another breath on Simon.

He took Maeve's hand and turned to leave, but Simon's voice stopped him in his tracks.

"I have a few words I'd like to discuss with Mr. Andres in private."

Andres didn't want to waste a single second on him.

Just as he was about to refuse, Maeve patted his arm.

"You two talk. I'll wait for you in the car."

Watching her retreating figure, Andres dropped the polite facade entirely.
