Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 49

Quinn had been dealing with a problem around that time and reached out to Ksite's operator on a whim.

The job had been handled beautifully. Pleased and impressed, Quinn had spread the word about Ksite's effectiveness.

K had an unwritten rule: take the money, do the job, don't ask questions.

After Ksite launched, clients came in a steady stream.

But people who'd actually seen K's face? Only a handful.

Quinn was one of them.

Seeing the disappointment in Andres's eyes, Quinn asked, "What do you need K for, Mr. Andres? If I ever get a way to contact her, I can pass it along."

Andres didn't hide his intent. "They say K can solve anything. I need her help finding someone."

"Who could possibly be worth that kind of effort?" Quinn asked.

"The Shadow Healer."

Quinn looked at Maeve again.

Maeve, as if oblivious, took her time peeling a grape.

Andres noticed the slight shift in Quinn's expression, filed it away, and made an offer. "If you can help me find The Shadow Healer, I'll pay double—whatever K's fee would've been."

Quinn shook his head. "You're joking, Mr. Andres. First, I'm not stealing K's business. Second, I genuinely don't know where The Shadow Healer is."

Even if he did, he wouldn't dare give away that terrifying woman's identity and whereabouts without permission.

He poured Andres a drink and offered an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry I couldn't help. Let this be my apology."

Quinn drank first.

Setting the glass down, he added, "But Mr. Andres didn't put this together just to ask about K. There's another reason you wanted me here."

Across the room, Anya sat with Sarah, half-heartedly playing darts.

Sarah leaned in and whispered, "What's with Maeve? Didn't she offend Mr. Andres and get detained? How is she just… here?"

As her best friend, Sarah knew some of the Morales family's mess. She knew where Maeve came from, and she'd heard what happened recently.

Anya's eyes brimmed with hate. "My dad must've gone to Mr. Andres behind the scenes and begged for her."

She'd asked her father afterward why Maeve had been released early.

He'd stammered through some vague answer about Andres being generous and doing the Morales family a favor.

Anya knew better. With her brother lying in a hospital bed, barely hanging on, her father would do anything.

And just like that, the most perfect misunderstanding took root.
