When it came to putting Anya in her place, Hans never held back. Thoroughly eviscerated by his reprimand, Anya completely forgot her original reason for coming. "Please, just let me explain..."
Andres, who had a multi-billion dollar empire to run, refused to waste another second on her. "Your pathetic stunts have made you a complete joke." Without another glance, he turned and strode through the gleaming doors of the corporate headquarters.
Hans gave her a mocking, overly polite gesture toward the street. "Don't let the door hit you on the way out."
It wasn't until Andres and Hans had practically vanished inside that Anya finally remembered why she was there. "Mr. Andres!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. "I just want status! Please!"
The only response was his retreating silhouette. Tears of pure humiliation welled in her eyes. His parting words rang cruelly in her ears. You've made yourself a complete joke. If she had literally any other choice, she wouldn't be subjecting herself to this humiliation.
Up in the sleek, expansive CEO office of Orca Group, Andres sat in his leather chair, a deep frown marring his features as he flipped through financial reports. Murray stood off to the side, commanding a line of four burly bodyguards. Kneeling directly in front of the massive desk was a man sporting a nasty bruise on his jaw. He looked to be in his early thirties, dressed in a sharp, expensive suit. Despite kneeling in disgrace, his expression remained defiantly arrogant.
"Mr. White, treating your own corporate executives like this... If word gets out, it's going to severely damage Orca Group's reputation." Silas tried to push himself up off the floor. The moment he moved, Murray planted a heavy boot in his chest, sending him sprawling backward.
Silas let out a pathetic yelp. Whimpering, he cried out, "Mr. White, don't forget we live in a civilized society governed by the rule of law!"
Andres carelessly tossed the heavy financial binder, letting it smack right into Silas's face. "Oh, so you know we live in a society governed by laws? In just three years, you embezzled four hundred million dollars from this company. Silas, I'm genuinely impressed by your sheer audacity."
