Andres gave Landon a cold, brief nod, doing the bare minimum to acknowledge his presence.
Landon wasn't deterred by the icy reception.
"Did you also receive an official invitation to the Skyward Summit, Mr. White?"
Andres thought it was an incredibly stupid question.
"Isn't that obvious?"
Noticing that Andres had arrived without a date, Landon feigned confusion.
"Where is the sharp-tongued Miss Vance? She didn't accompany you to today's summit?"
Andres's expression turned mocking.
"Did my Maeve really traumatize you that badly?"
Landon's face tightened.
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
Andres replied coolly, "Whether you don't know or you're just playing dumb, we both know the truth."
Knowing Landon, the humiliation he suffered at Corbin Shaw's banquet was something he would never forget for the rest of his life.
And Maeve, the architect of his misery, was firmly on his hit list.
Some things didn't need to be spelled out. Andres had no desire to waste his breath on Landon.
Surrounded by Hans, Murray, and his security detail, Andres turned to leave.
But Natalia, standing slightly behind Landon, suddenly blocked his path.
"Mr. White, I'd like to speak with you alone."
From the moment she appeared, Andres hadn't spared her a single glance.
Being blatantly ignored completely crushed her massive ego.
Andres looked at Landon.
"What's this supposed to mean?"
His gaze clearly said: Is there something wrong with your date's brain?
She was literally asking another man for a private chat right in front of her current escort.
Landon pulled Natalia forward.
