Ever since Donovan Yarrow's birthday banquet, Nevaeh hadn't heard a single peep about Maeve.
She wondered if that psycho Donovan had played Maeve to death that night.
If she was dead, that would be a beautiful piece of news.
At Corbin Shaw's cocktail party, Maeve had completely humiliated her.
Nevaeh kept that grudge buried deep in her heart.
She also had no idea where that sick freak Donovan had disappeared to.
He wasn't answering calls or replying to texts.
Several of her guaranteed endorsements had been snatched up by that bitch Summer Moon.
Her luck had been on a massive downward spiral lately. It seemed she needed to find time for a trip to Thailand to pray.
She wondered if the Kuman Thong she had invited into her life was throwing a temper tantrum.
Hearing the word "date," Benjamin also shot Andres a questioning look.
Did Andres really think he couldn't see right through Nevaeh's petty little schemes?
He deliberately ignored Nevaeh and looked directly at Benjamin.
"I heard from Maeve that you two were childhood friends, Mr. Bright."
Benjamin was genuinely surprised that Andres would bring up such a sensitive topic.
"Maeve mentioned me to you?"
Andres offered a deeply meaningful smile.
"Not only did she mention you, but she thinks very highly of you."
"Maeve said that to her, you're like a brother, and she even told me to build a good relationship with you in the business world."
In just a few short sentences, Andres caught the flash of surprise and delight in Benjamin's eyes.
"Did she really say that?"
Andres replied, "Would I have any reason to lie to you, Mr. Bright?"
Benjamin nodded. "I've always trusted your character, Mr. Andres."
Nevaeh's heart skipped a beat.
