Leonardo politely declined Andres's offer.
"Mr. Andres, I actually need your help with something."
Andres and Declan exchanged a quick glance.
The Salazar family held a highly unique position in Aethelburg.
Aside from the extensive network left by the late patriarch, Leonardo, as the current head of the family, never actively expanded his social circle.
Rumor had it this was a strict ancestral rule established by his late grandfather.
Building an empire was easier than maintaining one, and the old man feared that reckless networking by his descendants would invite disaster.
As a result, the family maintained strict control over who they associated with.
For Leonardo to suddenly ask Andres for a favor was completely unexpected.
"Feel free to speak your mind, Leonardo."
Leonardo clutched his throat and coughed violently.
An observant assistant immediately handed him an asthma inhaler.
Leonardo took a few puffs, and his complexion slowly returned to its usual pale state.
"It's like this," he began, casually handing the inhaler back to his assistant.
"I heard you've placed a massive bounty for any information regarding The Shadow Healer."
"You can see the state of my health. I'm living day by day, and I could drop dead at any moment."
"If given the choice, no one wants to die. Besides, I have dozens of people in the Salazar family relying on me to provide for them."
Leonardo's parents were both archaeologists.
The annual funding for their excavation projects was an astronomical figure.
He also had two older sisters entirely dedicated to academic research, refusing to touch the family business.
The Salazar family's current immense wealth was almost entirely thanks to Leonardo's efforts.
Andres instantly understood what he wanted.
"You want me to help you find The Shadow Healer?"
Leonardo's expression was utterly sincere.
"I won't let your efforts go unrewarded, Mr. Andres. If you can locate The Shadow Healer, I'm willing to sign over one of the Salazar family's shipping piers to you."
The Salazar family's primary business was maritime shipping.
"Is there a problem, Mr. Andres?"
Leonardo was much more hopeful about getting a lead from Andres.
When it came to desperately seeking medical help, the two men shared the exact same mindset.
Andres gave a small, knowing smile.
"Leonardo, I think attending the summit was just an excuse. Your real goal in coming to Lumiere City was to ask me about The Shadow Healer."
Leonardo let out a soft chuckle.
"You saw right through me, Mr. Andres."
Andres knew Leonardo was just being polite.
"How about this? After the summit is over, I'll introduce you to someone. We'll see if she has a way to cure your illness."
Leonardo's eyes lit up with sudden hope.
"Does this mean you've already found The Shadow Healer?"
Just as Andres opened his mouth to reply, Nevaeh suddenly rushed over, fresh tears streaking her face.
