Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 607

Andres hurried out the clubhouse doors, and sure enough, a torrential downpour was raging outside.

Occasional flashes of lightning tore across the horizon, followed by low, rumbling thunder.

It was only a little past 1:00 PM, yet the sky had turned ominously dark, as though night had already fallen.

While Murray went to the parking lot to get the car, Andres tried calling Maeve.

He was met only with an automated voice stating the number couldn't be reached.

By the time he lowered his phone, Murray had pulled the car around.

Hans opened a large black umbrella, shielding Andres as he climbed into the back seat.

"Still can't reach Miss Vance?"

Andres gave a barely perceptible nod.

He dialed her number again and again, his mind flashing back to the terrifying scene at The White Manor when Maeve was nearly struck by lightning.

Murray gradually increased the speed.

"Don't worry, Boss. I calculated Miss Vance's travel time and route to Lumiere City."

"As long as we follow this road, our cars are bound to cross paths."

Murray's words did nothing to ease Andres's anxiety.

He turned to Hans. "Was there rain in the forecast for the next few days?"

He had a sinking feeling this storm was highly unnatural.

Hans replied, "I checked the weather before we left. There was no rain expected for the next three days."

Suddenly, a realization slammed into Andres.

Maeve had salvaged a damaged chip from Lab C, and after repairing it, she discovered it had an S-level encryption.

He had dealt with that type of security before.

Once the decryption process started, if the code wasn't broken within seventy-two hours, the chip would self-destruct.

If he could figure that out, Maeve definitely knew it too.

Could she have resorted to using that forbidden art again just to crack the chip?

At that thought, panic seized Andres's chest.

He snapped an order at Murray.

"Do you even know how to drive? Hurry up, go faster!"

Murray looked aggrieved at the scolding.

"It's Maeve's."

The car was parked crookedly on the shoulder, its headlights flickering weakly.

The rain was so heavy it was impossible to see if anyone was inside.

Andres's heart was practically pounding out of his chest, uncertain if Maeve was safe.

Murray floored the accelerator, charging toward the spot where the lightning was relentlessly crashing down.

As the two cars drew closer, the men inside finally spotted a figure moving within Maeve's car.

By now, the storm had intensified, and deep puddles flooded the highway.

The moment the car halted, Andres threw open the door and sprinted out into the downpour.

Hans yelled, "Boss, be careful!"

He clearly saw a blinding bolt of lightning hurtling straight for Maeve's car.

Andres completely ignored Hans's warning.

Moving with terrifying speed, he yanked open Maeve's car door.

At that exact second, the lightning bolt that had been meant for the car was deflected by Andres's sudden proximity, striking the ground right next to the tire instead.
