Ian kicked himself for spending his earlier years trying to build a career abroad. He'd only thought of returning to start a business after suffering constant setbacks.
If he had built a good relationship with the White family earlier, maybe he could have already snatched some of their assets for himself.
With Caden White dead, leaving behind a paralyzed Sofia and a young Andres.
What kind of threat could a widow and an orphan pose?
Ian quickly pasted on a fawning smile.
"Nephew, since millions isn't a huge amount, I'll give you my account number."
"Can you transfer it before tonight?"
Andres crossed his long legs, watching Ian with a mockingly amused expression.
"Sure. Three percent monthly interest. That's as low as I can go."
Ian was bewildered.
"What do you mean?"
Noelle tugged at her father's sleeve from behind and whispered a reminder.
"He means he'll lend you the money, but you have to pay interest. Three percent, paid monthly."
"If we borrow that much, the monthly interest would be..."
Noelle started counting on her fingers.
Maeve coolly supplied the number.
"Hundreds of thousands."
Ian exploded immediately.
"How could you ask me for interest?"
He hadn't even planned on paying back the principal.
Andres looked as if he'd just heard a joke.
"We're both businessmen. Business is business. Why wouldn't I ask for interest?"
"Three percent is only because of our supposed family ties."
"If it weren't for that connection, borrowing money from me would cost you at least five percent."
"Besides, I wouldn't just hand the money over blindly."
"Before the loan goes through, my assistant will audit your company's total assets."
