Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 704

She was vastly more captivating than an artificial beauty like Nancy, who relied on stylists and makeup artists.

It wasn't just Hans and Murray who looked guarded.

Andres stared at Nancy with the icy detachment reserved for a stranger.

"Your presence here is mildly surprising. I didn't realize Miss Grover and Mr. Shaw were such close friends."

Andres found Nancy's use of Cormac's connections downright pathetic.

Thinking Andres had misunderstood, Cormac rushed to explain.

"Mr. Andres, Miss Grover and I are merely acquaintances."

Nancy curled her lips into a smile.

"Andres, are you jealous?"

Murray let out a heavy, mocking scoff.

"You might want to get your eyes checked. My boss doesn't just get jealous over anybody."

Stung by Murray's jab, a flicker of grievance crossed Nancy's eyes.

"Murray, are you still holding a grudge over what happened in the past?"

Murray shot back coldly, "You're overthinking it."

Nancy gave Cormac a subtle gesture, signaling him to leave.

"Go on with your business. I need a private word with Andres."

Cormac took the hint and scurried off.

With no outsiders nearby, Nancy spread her arms, moving in to embrace Andres.

"Andres, it's been so long. I missed you so much."

But before she could throw herself into his arms, Murray stepped up and shoved her back with just enough force to stop her in her tracks.

"My boss doesn't do physical contact with strangers. Please have some self-respect, Miss Grover."

Nancy hadn't expected Murray to continuously humiliate her like this. Her face hardened into a scowl.

"Andres, you're going to let your subordinate treat me this way?"

Andres's expression was grim.

"Murray is my personal bodyguard. Protecting my physical safety falls well within his job description."

Hans signaled with his eyes that Nancy was still the pampered daughter of the Grover family.

Actually injuring her would only drag the boss into unnecessary drama.

Only then did Murray abandon his violent urges.

Nancy clung to Andres, refusing to let go, weaponizing her tears to express her anguish.

"I was sick. I had leukemia. It was severe, the kind that kills."

"I forced myself to leave you because I didn't want to ruin your happiness."

"At the time, I thought I was a goner. I thought I'd never see you again."

"But God took pity on me. After a year of treatment abroad, I survived."

"I was forced to swallow endless pills and endure countless injections, all so I could survive and show you my best self."

"Andres, you have no idea how much I suffered, how much agony I went through."

"The treatment was lonely and agonizing. It tortured me so much I wanted to die every single day."

"But whenever the pain became unbearable, I thought about seeing you again, and suddenly, it was all worth it."
