Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 821

Maeve was about to head to the dining hall with her classmates when she received a call from Benjamin.

"Are you buying?" she asked.

Benjamin had asked her to lunch at a high-end restaurant just twenty minutes from Aethelburg University.

"Do me a favor and come, Maeve. I have something important to tell you."

Maeve scoffed. "Your version of important is never good news for me."

Benjamin's tone was unwavering. "I don't know if it's good news, but it's strictly business."

After his relentless pleading, Maeve finally agreed to meet him.

When she arrived at the restaurant, Benjamin was already waiting by the entrance.

He was still sporting his signature bald look, sticking out like a sore thumb. Dressed in a sharp, tailored suit, he carried himself with an imposing arrogance that outshone any runway model.

Seeing her finally appear, Benjamin walked over with a bright smile. "Maeve, I'm glad you didn't stand me up."

Neither of them noticed that their little reunion at the entrance was being photographed by a very interested party.

As fate would have it, Nancy Grover and her socialite friends were dining at the exact same restaurant. Not only had Nancy caught sight of Maeve and Benjamin chatting and laughing, but her closest friend, June, had seen it too.

Among Nancy's tight-knit circle, June came from the least influential background. It was precisely because of her family's lower standing that she clung so desperately to Nancy, hoping to use the Grover family's golden coattails to elevate her own status.

A flicker of guilt flashed through Nancy's eyes, barely noticeable. "That was a long time ago. I really don't remember."

"That's Benjamin Bright, the CEO of Spark Industries," June explained.

Another girl chimed in to defend Nancy's lapse in memory. "It's completely normal that Nancy doesn't remember him. Spark Industries only gained a foothold in Aethelburg a few years ago. They used to be headquartered up in The North, in Brinxton. They started out in real estate. Years ago, they were just some second-rate company. It wasn't until Benjamin took over and used some incredibly shady tactics that they grew large enough to almost rival the three major families."

Realizing she might have misspoken, the girl quickly backtracked. "Don't get me wrong, Nancy! I just mean that even though Spark Industries has been doing well lately, they're absolute garbage compared to the three major families. As the top family, the Grover family's position is untouchable. Even the White family, who rose up so mysteriously these past two years, has to bow their heads to the Grovers. As the Grover heiress, it makes perfect sense that you wouldn't remember a nobody like him."

Nancy was long accustomed to her friends' endless flattery.

Encouraged by June's plotting, she attached the photo of Maeve and Benjamin to a text and sent it straight to Andres. She had plenty of burner numbers. If he blocked one, she had countless others ready to go.
