Returning to Azure Bay, while Maeve washed up, Andres headed straight for the study and called Hans.
"Are we still investigating Nancy Grover?"
Hans's confused voice came through the line.
Andres's mind was far from calm.
"I suspect there are two Nancys in this world."
"Identical faces, completely different auras, and both going by the same name. It screams that something is wrong."
Hans was shocked by the theory.
"How is that even possible?"
Andres never doubted his instincts.
"Whether it's possible or not, we won't know until we dig into it."
"Maeve has a massive issue with the Grover family. She's practically ready to declare open warfare."
"If the Grovers are scheming something, we need to be prepared."
Hans suddenly remembered something.
"Andres, I forgot to mention. A couple of days ago, Nancy apparently slept with Landon Hart."
For a moment, Andres questioned his own hearing.
"She slept with who?"
"Landon Hart," Hans confirmed.
Andres found it hard to associate Nancy with Landon.
Back when he and Nancy were frequently in touch, they shared a social circle with Landon and Michael Perez.
But he had no idea what kind of private relationship Landon and Nancy had.
To suddenly hear that they had slept together made Andres feel like the world had gone crazy.
"Are the Grover and Hart families planning an alliance?"
It was pure curiosity, devoid of any other emotion.
"Probably not," Hans said. "Because the intimate photos leaked online were scrubbed almost immediately."
Andres found the situation increasingly bizarre.
"If there really are two Nancys, is it possible that the one who slept with Landon isn't the same one I was linked to back then?"
While showering, Maeve debated whether she should be more honest with Andres and share some of her secrets with him.
After all, her next moves might drag the White family into the crossfire.
As a married couple, it didn't feel right to go to extremes while keeping him completely in the dark.
Wearing her bathrobe, she walked up to the study.
Naomi wasn't having it.
"Spill it. What happened?"
Maeve wasn't one to beat around the bush either.
"I've confirmed it. Nancy is the one who killed Charlie."
Naomi's voice turned grave over the receiver.
"And his heart?"
"Current theory? It's inside Nancy's body," Maeve said.
"But when you checked her pulse last time, you didn't find anything unusual, right?" Naomi asked.
"That was an impostor, which I've also confirmed. And she's probably dead by now," Maeve replied.
It took a long moment for Naomi to find her voice again.
"Where is the real Nancy right now?"
"Hidden deep. She's too scared to show her face, but I'm guessing she's still in Aethelburg."
"I'll think of something. Maybe I can pull some strings to draw that bitch out."
Maeve warned Naomi not to do anything rash.
