So he made up an excuse.
"He has a feminine, pretty-boy face, his acting is terrible, and he mumbles when he sings. I don't understand how your company can promote such a subpar artist."
Worried that his wife might actually be seduced by a minor celebrity, Andres had even looked up the man's information online.
Not only was he surrounded by scandals, but he had also trended online for drunk driving.
Trash like that didn't deserve to be a public figure.
Corbin fought back a laugh.
"I never imagined Mr. Andres would have a hobby of paying attention to entertainment stars."
"Jordan doesn't have the best reputation in the industry, but his fan base is massive."
"There's nothing we can do about it. Young girls these days just love his type."
Michael, on the other hand, was much sharper.
He threw an arm over Andres's shoulder and asked teasingly:
"For a busy man like you to pay special attention to him, did this Yates guy get on your bad side?"
"If I had to guess, Maeve is a fan of his, isn't she?"
Corbin clicked his tongue in amazement.
"Andres, is Michael actually right?"
Maeve Vance fangirling over Jordan Yates? That was the biggest joke of the year.
While the group was joking around, Declan Fulton and Naomi Lowell arrived at the venue together.
Andres could afford to ignore Declan, but he couldn't disregard Naomi.
"Welcome, both of you. Thanks for coming."
Declan handed an exquisitely wrapped gift bag to Murray, who was trailing behind Andres.
"Regardless of whose favor I'm returning, I had to make an appearance today."
Naomi also handed over her gift.
"Happy birthday, Andres."
She glanced around the crowd.
"Where is Maeve?"
Andres had no idea why Maeve still hadn't shown up.
Her phone was off for no apparent reason.
She hadn't even given him a heads-up before going dark.
