Grandma Julia’s eyes squinted in a warm smile and nodded. "Hello, Korey. You must come over to the house for dinner some time."
Korey replied cheerfully. "Thank you."
Grandma Julia really liked how poised and generous the young man was. She then turned to look at Conrad. "Conrad, are you joining us today as well?"
"I heard you have been quite busy lately."
"I have not seen you at the dinner table for days, so it is quite a rare treat to see you today." Conrad bowed respectfully and stepped forward to take Wiona's hand. "Yes, Grandma. It is my first time meeting my wife's mother, so no matter what is going on, everything else must be put aside."
Grandma Julia was overjoyed. "Good, good, good."
"Luna will definitely love having you as her son-in-law."
"Since everyone is here, let us get going."
The group got into their respective vehicles. The two aunt-in-laws accompanied Grandma Julia in a commercial van. Wiona, Conrad, and Korey sat in Conrad's personal car. Korey sat in the front passenger seat. As soon as they got in, Wiona immediately asked about the situation back home. "Even though I video call Mom often, I rarely see Alice. I heard she is either climbing trees to find bird nests, wading in the pond to catch fish, or chasing butterflies and flying kites."
"It seems she is having quite a good time while we are not at home."
"Have you visited Hawthorne Hall lately to check on them? Are they both doing well?"
Korey adjusted the glasses on the bridge of his nose. "Please do not worry. Alice's condition has improved significantly."
"Mrs. Sullivan is completely devoted to Alice's recovery."
"Phil is also extremely patient with her."
"I went to see them, and Alicey is indeed very happy. I think when you and Mr. Sullivan return next time, you will be pleasantly surprised again."
