On the other side of the estate, Wiona was deep in a sweet dream when she suddenly felt herself being lifted. She jolted awake, her eyes snapping open to find Conrad's face hovering above hers. Still disoriented, she glanced around and realized they were in the guest room.
"Have you lost your mind?" Wiona gasped in panic. "You woke up Madison... Wait, where is she?" The bed was completely empty.
Conrad let out a low hum of amusement. "Tonight is her wedding night. As her sister, how could you be so inconsiderate and ruin her husband's special day?"
Wiona blinked, a wave of guilt washing over her. "But Madison was scared. Wait! Put me down first."
Turning a deaf ear to her protests, Conrad carried her straight back to their own bedroom. He tossed her onto the plush mattress and leaned over, pinning her arms down so she could not escape. "How should I punish you?" His deep, bewitching voice seeped into her ears like a spell, making her heart turn soft and fluttery.
"I just want to sleep," Wiona murmured. "Are you not tired? I really cannot handle this every single day."
Conrad hooked a finger under her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. A flicker of disappointment touched his eyes. "It seems I have not been serving you well enough. Are you getting tired of me?"
