"Which part wasn't true?" Hattie flushed with anger, refusing to back down even an inch. "Don't think we didn't hear you. You literally told your little friends to go around spreading rumors and trashing our Goddess."
"You think just because your family has some filthy money you're untouchable? You think you can just bully our Goddess?"
They all knew exactly what kind of person Goddess was. She would spend her own money treating her classmates without ever asking for anything in return. If they just stood there like mutes while she got bullied, they'd be no better than animals.
"Exactly!" The CS students felt a surge of loyalty, all of them puffing their chests out and standing tall.
"Y-you people—" Sheryl's lips trembled, her eyes turning glacial. Without warning, she raised her hand and swung it hard toward Hattie's face.
The slap came fast and vicious. If it landed, it would have knocked her sideways.
Seeing the movement, Hattie's face paled, and she instinctively tried to dodge.
But there were stairs right behind her. In her panic, her foot slipped off the edge, and she lost her balance, falling backward.
Just as she was about to tumble down, a pale, beautiful hand wrapped firmly around her waist, catching her effortlessly.
"Juniper?" Hattie looked down, saw who it was, and gasped in surprise.
"Mm." Juniper gave a brief nod and swiftly yanked Hattie to the side.
With her left hand, she caught Sheryl's incoming wrist mid-air. Then, raising her right hand, she delivered a brutal, resounding slap directly across Sheryl's face.
"Ah—!"
The force of the blow sent Sheryl crashing to the ground. Five distinct, crimson finger marks instantly bloomed on her cheek.
*SMACK—*
The sound of the slap was so loud and crisp that everyone nearby turned their heads, freezing in shock.
The pre-med students were even more astounded that Juniper had the audacity to strike Sheryl in public.
They stood rooted to the spot, their expressions going through a kaleidoscope of colors.
"Juniper Payne, you dared to hit me?!" Sheryl lay sprawled on the ground, a total mess, her eyes turning red and her hair disheveled.
"I hit you, so what? Are you going to report me to the United Nations?"
Juniper tossed her gold medal to Hattie, took two steps forward, and bent down slightly, her lips curling into a lazy smirk.
