Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1274

"I don't want your money!" Jimmie's handsome face tightened in sheer exasperation.

"Oh, okay." Luella breathed a sigh of relief and pulled up her QR code.

Jimmie scanned it, sent the request, and then just stood there, staring at her.

"?" Luella blinked, staring right back.

"Accept it," Jimmie finally said, his tone flat.

"Oh right." Luella tapped the button, casually changing his contact name to 'Pretty Boy'.

Jimmie's face darkened instantly.

Surprisingly, he didn't lecture her. Instead, his tone grew heavy. "No matter how you plan to deal with your sister, make sure you protect yourself first."

"Hmm?" Luella stiffened slightly, looking up at him with deep eyes.

"I've seen the news. The Executive Chief is a ruthless man." Jimmie didn't spell it out completely, simply offering a veiled warning. "You know what I mean."

"Are you... caring about me?" Luella's eyelashes fluttered in genuine surprise. "Seriously?"

*Did the sun rise in the west?*

"No," Jimmie shot back testily. He turned to Clark. "Let's go."

"Right away!" Clark eagerly pulled out his own phone. "Mr. Langley, do you mind if I add you too? Your driving was insane, I'd love to get some tips from you."

"Sure thing." Luella offered her code, completely relaxed. "Go ahead."

"I'll send it to you," Jimmie snapped impatiently, grabbing Clark by the collar and dragging him toward their car.

"Ah, hey, hey—!" Clark sputtered as he was practically choke-held and forced to walk backward.

Luella: "?"

In the car.

The moment Clark sat down, he eagerly asked, "Jimmie, could you forward that contact—"

"My phone is dead." Jimmie crossed his arms over his chest, closed his eyes, and radiated an aura of absolute unapproachability.

"Huh?" Clark hesitated. "But when you were adding Mr. Langley, I thought I saw a full battery."

"You saw wrong," Jimmie lied smoothly, not batting an eye.
