Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 852

"Juniper!" Passing students greeted her one after another. "You're back from the forum?"

"Yeah." Juniper looked up and gave a small smile and nod to a few of her admirers. One look was all it took. Her face, which could captivate anyone, now paired with a smile, was devastating.

The young admirers' hearts skipped a beat. "Juniper, want to head in together?" they suggested.

"In a minute." Juniper cleared her throat and raised her voice. "Our fellow student Yolanda and her boyfriend are trying to be good Samaritans. They saw I was having a hard time and told me to ask for anything, saying they'd definitely help."

"What kind of request?" Hearing this, some underclassmen walked over and asked curiously.

"To borrow money, of course," Juniper said with a casual raise of her eyebrow. "Since they're so capable and kind-hearted, asking for two million isn't too much, right?"

Two million? Jerrold froze, and Yolanda's expression changed instantly. Was she out of her mind? If it had been a few thousand, they might have considered it. But two million? She must be desperate.

"Didn't Ms. Sherwin just arrogantly offer to help Juniper?" a student nearby chimed in coolly. "Two million should be pocket change for you, right?" Others might not know, but they did. Yolanda used to be Juniper's sister, but they'd had a major falling out. There were even rumors that Jerrold had failed to win over Juniper and only turned to Yolanda after finding out she wasn't the "true heiress." The two of them wanted to help Juniper now? It was more likely a fake offer, just an excuse to show off and mock her.

Another student jumped in, backing Juniper up. "Ms. Sherwin's boyfriend is the youngest son of the prestigious Lonsdale family of Eclara City. All that big talk, and now you're backing out when it counts?" Yolanda was always bragging at school about how rich and powerful her boyfriend was, making the other girls incredibly envious. They couldn't stand her vanity.
