"Bella brought you to Northwyn, which must have thrilled you," Lillian said coolly. "Over the past few years, Sebastian and the Blake family relaxed their surveillance on you, so when the opportunity arose, you didn't refuse. Once you arrived, Bella covered all your living expenses. But you couldn't control yourself. You quickly found your way to The Grand Sapphire Casino.
"During this time, you managed to con Bella out of millions of dollars just to play. And right now, you owe the casino a staggering billion dollars. Out of sheer desperation, you finally set your sights on Old Mr. Blake. Am I wrong?"
Debbie's head snapped up, her eyes wide with absolute horror. She was paralyzed by the realization that Lillian knew every single detail.
She had been so careful in Northwyn. Nobody was supposed to be watching her. How could this woman know?
Hearing all of this, Old Mr. Blake couldn't contain his fury any longer. "You... you wretched parasite! You dared to cause a disaster of this magnitude?! You think you belong in an underground casino? And then you try to extort a billion-dollar payout from me just to keep gambling?! A leopard truly never changes its spots! You are out of your goddamn mind!"
Cornered and desperate, Debbie immediately began defending herself. "It wasn't me! It wasn't me! It was Bella and her mother, Sabrina! They're the ones who told me to do this! I wasn't doing it for myself. Bella wanted a massive billion-dollar wedding settlement!
"She forced me to do this for the money! She heard that when my son Sebastian married his ex-wife, he gave her a billion-dollar dowry. She was insanely jealous and demanded the exact same amount. But she knew she couldn't just ask for it directly, because she'd never get it. So they came up with this twisted scheme and made me do the dirty work! I swear, I didn't do this for myself! She forced me! She wanted the billion!"
Lillian let out a soft, mocking laugh. That, she believed.
When Bella and Sabrina had seen her retrieving her billion-dollar dowry from Sebastian's estate, the gears in their heads must have started turning. Seeing Lillian easily walk away with that kind of wealth, Bella naturally demanded the exact same treatment. For years, Bella had been pathologically obsessed with competing with Lillian on every front. Lillian knew this better than anyone.
"Using such a filthy tactic... it's truly disgusting," Lillian said coldly. "Did you really think a man of Old Mr. Blake's age could survive a stunt like this? You clearly put zero value on human life."
