Warren's eyes darted nervously, and he stammered, unable to form a coherent sentence.
"We're already at this point," Spencer pressed. "What could you possibly be trying to hide? Out with it!"
Looking deeply humiliated, Warren finally confessed. "She promised me ten percent of the total payout."
"Unbelievable," Howard sneered.
Norah and Xavier exchanged a look. She turned back to Warren. "We'll pause there. We'll handle the rest in a minute!"
With that, Norah turned to Warren's assistant. "The Donovan family is at the restaurant across the street. Go bring them here—and make sure Leila comes too!"
While they had been waiting for Spencer, Xavier had instructed Wyatt to send a car to pick up the Donovans and have them wait at the restaurant nearby.
If the truth was going to come out, everyone involved needed to be present.
The assistant looked at Warren, who frowned heavily but nodded. "Go."
The assistant scurried out.
A few minutes later, the Donovans arrived, and to everyone's surprise, Mrs. Potts had tagged along.
When she saw cars coming for the Donovans, she practically forced her way in, terrified they were secretly negotiating a payout without her. The driver couldn't stop her, so he brought her along.
Before she had even crossed the threshold, Mrs. Potts was already shouting, "Are you trying to force us into signing those agreements again? Where did that Mr. Flemmings run off to with your bribe money?"
But the moment she stepped inside and saw the room full of imposing executives in tailored suits, her mouth snapped shut.
Dylan spotted Xavier and lit up. "Xavier!"
Leila, standing beside him, sneered. "Why are you calling him that? Can't you see he's in bed with the hotel people? You're so naive, you can't even tell who's playing you!"
Dylan scowled. "Xavier isn't like that!"
