Upon returning home, Norah had lunch, went back to her room, and opened her newly purchased books. Suddenly, she remembered Gonzalez.

She pulled out her phone and added his number on WhatsApp.

A few seconds later, the request was accepted.

Curious, she tapped on his Facebook profile, but it was completely blank. Not a single post.

She forwarded his contact card to Sara with a quick message:

Sara replied with an ecstatic sticker. [I owe you big time! Dinner is on me soon.]

Sara's family was in the antique business. While they weren't billionaires, they were very well-off in J City. She had a laid-back, outgoing personality and clicked perfectly with Norah.

Norah smiled, set her phone aside, and went back to reading.

Gonzalez was working up a sweat at the gym. He had just accepted Norah's request and was still trying to figure out what to say to her when another friend request popped up.

It was Norah's friend, Sara.

Gonzalez felt a headache coming on. After a moment's hesitation, he accepted it. Glancing at the thumbnail on her profile, his eyes narrowed, and he tapped to open her Facebook page.

It was a photo album from Norah's recent birthday party.

Almost every single picture featured Norah and Adrian Chambers.

There was the car Adrian had gifted her, the two of them standing shoulder-to-shoulder surrounded by flowers, cutting the cake together, and even in the group shots, they were standing incredibly close.

Gonzalez felt a sharp pang of jealousy, followed closely by a rising tide of panic. Since she had forgotten him, was it possible Norah would fall for Adrian, who had been constantly by her side?
