Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3261

"It was just yesterday at your house. Grandma Hanson said she wanted to set me up with a guy," Norah lied smoothly, thinking on her feet.

Gonzalez frowned, his voice turning cold. "Don't listen to her."

"Obviously, I didn't. If there was a really great guy, she would've saved him for Yvonne. Why would she introduce him to me?" Norah scoffed softly.

His expression relaxed. "Not bad. You're not entirely clueless."

Norah burst into a bright, blooming smile. "You sound exactly like Henson right now!"

He scoffed. "I can't believe you're smiling. Even Henson looks down on your intelligence."

Her smile vanished, and she ground her teeth. "I'm just playing dumb. Secretly, I'm brilliant!"

"At least you know how to use big words," Gonzalez agreed dryly.

She arched an eyebrow. "Are you complimenting my brilliance?"

His gaze turned solemn. "I'm just worried about one thing right now."

"What?" she asked curiously.

He stared at her, his voice dropping to a slow, husky murmur. "I'm worried our future kids will inherit your IQ."

Norah choked on her breath. "Excuse me?"

Gonzalez looked back down to chop vegetables, his tone as casual and indifferent as ever. "Weren't you just talking about finding a boyfriend? If you're going to date, you naturally have to think about marriage and kids down the line."

She struggled to keep up with his rapid shift in conversation. After a moment, she recovered and laughed. "Then I'll just have to find a guy as brilliant as me."

The hand holding the kitchen knife twitched. He shot her a meaningful look.

"What?" she asked.

"Nothing." His tone was flat. "Just thinking... that might be a bit of a challenge."
