Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 479

"Is your fiancé an accomplice?"

The reporters' questions came one after another. Ivy was pushed against a low wall next to the City Hall entrance, unable to move.

She was stunned.

Embezzling two million dollars?

"You're lying! I didn't do it!"

Ivy screamed in terror, trying to push the microphones away, but she had clearly underestimated the media's obsession with a negative story.

"You didn't? Then please explain why the trail for that two million dollars ultimately led to your personal account?"

A reporter pulled out several photos.

There were pictures of her looking at houses, of her at the registry office for the deed, and of her at the bank.

But in all the photos, she was alone. There was no Lucian Chow.

Ivy's eyes widened.

She was flustered, completely at a loss.

The reporters were still firing questions, and to Ivy, they seemed like a pack of wolves, ready to tear her apart.

"Get away! Get away from me!"

Ivy squatted on the ground and broke down crying. "I don't know… I don't know anything… I want to go home…"

*Click, click, click—*

The sound of camera shutters was relentless, capturing her disheveled state.

In her despair, Ivy's trembling hand pulled out her phone and dialed Grace's number.

The call was answered on the first ring.

"Grace…"

Ivy sobbed uncontrollably. "Help me… I didn't do anything… Lucian Chow is gone… so many reporters…"

"Ivy, don't be afraid."

Grace comforted her as she grabbed her bag and rushed out the door.
