Damien leaned against the window, his expression dark and unreadable. "If it's him, then everything makes sense."
Ringhold Tech was one of Jarrow's old-school tech giants.
The patriarch of the Leung family had been a titan of industry whose influence could make the whole market tremble. As the sole son, Julian Leung was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but unlike most spoiled heirs, he was no empty suit.
On the contrary, the man was deeply calculating.
At thirty-seven, he was unmarried, with no scandals to his name. He lived his life like a ghost.
You could hardly even find his name in the news.
"No wonder."
Grace let out a cold laugh. "Graceline Technologies has grown too fast this past year."
Ever since Grace left the Hart family and founded Graceline Technologies, many tech companies had been acquired by the Clarke family's conglomerate.
And while Ringhold Tech hadn't been bought out, its market share had dwindled significantly.
How could a vindictive man like Julian Leung just sit back and watch?
"I remember now," Grace said, looking up. "The Jarrow tech expo three months ago."
Damien raised an eyebrow. "Hm?"
"A man tried to strike up a conversation with me. My assistant said he was Mr. Leung from Ringhold," Grace recalled. "I was about to head over, but then my nanny called, saying Gianna had a fever and was crying for her mommy."
In that moment, Grace hadn't thought about anything else.
Billion-dollar projects and business tycoons all had to take a backseat to her sick daughter.
She hadn't even gotten a clear look at Mr. Leung's face before she turned and bolted from the convention center.
"I heard later that Julian Leung just stood there fuming for what felt like an eternity," Grace shrugged. "He probably held a grudge against me for that."
Damien looked at her.
Now, as Grace spoke of offending a powerful man, she seemed completely nonchalant.
