"Hah. I should have guessed. First he comes for my wife, now he's coming for my company?
"He clearly has too much time on his hands. Contact our Habor City branch. Tell them to give Mr. Forster something to worry about."
"Understood, sir."
Kevin hesitated, as if he had more to say.
"Sir... there's one more thing."
Hudson was a coiled spring of frustration. He yanked at his tie, his voice sharp.
"Spit it out!"
Kevin sounded increasingly nervous.
"We also confirmed that back in Riverdale, after the Ma‘am's procedure, Silas Faith visited her room. Apparently, Julian Forster made the introduction."
What did Silas Faith have to do with this?
A deep furrow appeared between Hudson's brows as he barked into the phone.
"What were they discussing?"
"We haven't been able to confirm the specifics of the conversation, sir."
Hudson sensed a pattern he couldn't quite see yet. He rubbed his thumb against his forefinger.
"Find out where Silas is. I'm going to see him myself."
"Right away, sir."
Night fell.
The Sevilla Restaurant.
Silas Faith was walking out of a private dining room after a business meeting when he found himself face-to-face with Hudson Walter.
Hudson was in a dark suit, his tie missing and his top buttons undone. He was leaning against a railing, a cigarette between his fingers.
The smoke drifted around his cold, angular face, giving him an air of quiet menace.
Their eyes met. Silas remained unruffled, offering a polite, professional nod.
"Hudson. It's been a while."
Hudson didn't move. He kept his gaze fixed on Silas, his voice carrying a mocking edge.
"I hear you've become quite acquainted with my wife."
"Your wife?"
Silas smiled, meeting Hudson's sharp gaze without flinching.
"Which one are we talking about? Jade? Or Amara?"
"Silas!" Hudson's voice dropped an octave, a wave of palpable aggression radiating from him.
"Amara is your nephew's widow. Have some respect."
