His Housewife Had Secret Identities novel Chapter 620

Despite being the majority shareholder, Niamh held little sway over the company. The shareholders and employees barely knew her. Now, with such a massive scandal on their hands, few believed she had what it took to turn the tide. A sense of panic rippled through the company, from top to bottom.

“What kind of real talent can a woman who got the company in a divorce have?”

“We’re so unlucky to have the company fall into her hands.”

“Is a huge corporation like ours actually going to go bankrupt?”

“This is prime time for a buyout. If that happens, there’ll be layoffs, and we’ll all be out of a job.”

Niamh was standing by the breakroom door, listening to the employees complain, when a pair of large hands suddenly covered her ears. “Don’t worry,” Elmer’s voice came through, muffled but encouraging. “I’m here. Everything will be okay.”

A coat suddenly draped over her shoulders, making her jump. “It’s me.”

The deep, magnetic voice reached her ears, and Niamh spun around. Jonathan was standing right in front of her. She hadn't seen him in days, but he was still wearing the same cheap suit he wore when he was her assistant. The suit may have been inexpensive, but on him, it did nothing to diminish his innate air of nobility and imposing presence. Niamh stared at him and was the first to speak.

“Are you here to finalize your resignation?”
