Nicholas widened his eyes in feigned innocence. The golden morning light spilled over him, making his skin and sculpted lines look almost glowing, as if begging to be bitten again. He made no effort to cover up. The bite mark, the scratches, the open shirt, the messy hair—he looked like a captivating fox spirit.
"Serena, are you going to ravish me and then refuse to take responsibility?"
Watching his spectacular, peacock-like performance, amusement danced in Serena's cool eyes. She wasn't falling for this.
She chuckled, a lazy elegance in her posture, and reached out to hook a finger under his chin. Like she was teasing a helpless boy, her thumb deliberately caressed his jawline.
His Adam's apple bobbed.
Serena leaned in and bit down on his collarbone again. Hard.
"So what if I bit you?" She pulled back, admiring the fresh teeth marks, and raised an eyebrow in satisfaction. "With looks like yours, you deserve to be ravished."
Watching her haughty expression, the darkness in Nicholas's eyes surged. He grabbed her wrist and pressed her hand flat against his firm abs, his voice dropping an octave. "If you like it so much, you can bite me every day. No matter how much you ravish me, I'll endure it willingly."
Serena curled her fingers, giving his perfectly toned abs a sharp pinch. "Nicholas, you're all talk. A paper tiger. Since you managed to hold back so well last night, you can just keep holding it in."
Feeling the muscles tense beneath her fingertips, she withdrew her hand, swung her legs out of bed, and walked straight into the bathroom without looking back.
She simply left without a second glance.
The bathroom door clicked shut. The shower turned on.
