Serena leaned against the passenger seat, casting a sideways glance at Hazel, who was clearly buzzing with excitement at the mention of “gourmet spots.” She let out a silent sigh.
Yet, the girl herself remained completely oblivious.
Serena mentally wiped away a tear of sympathy for her older brother.
It was going to be a very long road to win her heart.
“Oh, right!” Remembering something, Hazel quickly reached into the back seat, grabbed a sleek laptop, and shoved it into Serena's lap with a cheeky grin. “Almost forgot the main event. Babe, I put our people on that tech center you wanted me to monitor. Here's the surveillance footage and some of the internal data they pulled.”
As she spoke, she expertly toggled through several security feeds.
The screen displayed real-time internal footage of the Severia Tech Nexus.
“This place is on high alert. The security is tight, and the firewalls are ridiculously strong,” Hazel muttered, curling her lip. “If Nicholas hadn't lent a hand and brute-forced a crack in their outer defenses, our guys wouldn't have been able to dig this deep.”
At the mention of Nicholas, Hazel clicked her tongue. “But thanks to his help, we've confirmed that this tech center is definitely connected to the Obsidian Sun. Plus, their recent movements are highly suspicious.”
She switched the screen to another tab.
It showed a filtered list of entry logs and cross-referenced identities.
“Take a look at these people,” Hazel pointed at the screen. “These are all names from the roster Nicholas extracted from the Obsidian Sun's island base. Over the last few days, quite a few of them have secretly arrived in Severia and have been frequently going in and out of the Tech Nexus.”
“My guess is the Obsidian Sun is using this international tournament, which has gathered the world's top geniuses, as a cover to plot something massive at the center.”
Serena lowered her eyes to scan the data, her gaze turning somber.
She raised her hand, her slender fingers flying rapidly across the keyboard.
The screen instantly splintered into dozens of fragmented surveillance feeds.
Indeed, many figures matched the roster.
