Since she was already on the floor, she dragged herself toward Silas. "Dad, I have no reason to hurt him!"
"Frame you?" Silas laughed, though the sound was fueled by pure rage, making it all the more chilling.
He had only just returned, but Douglas had already told him everything—how Serena had saved Kiera Montrose upon arriving in the United Realmon States, and how she had poured her heart into formulating a treatment and recovery plan for the two elders.
Why would Serena ever want to harm Holden?
With her unparalleled medical expertise, a trick this cheap was simply beneath her.
Furthermore, Anna's behavior practically screamed guilt.
"Pull the security footage," Silas ordered coldly.
At the mention of security footage, a spark of defiance flickered in Anna's panicked eyes.
As if suddenly finding her backbone, she straightened her posture, feigning absolute righteousness. "Fine! I have nothing to hide. Check the cameras. The footage will prove my innocence!"
Long before she made her move, she had already secured her escape route.
She had ordered Augus to destroy the cameras in the suite. Even the cloud backups were wiped clean.
Trying to investigate her? Impossible.
A few minutes later, Dr. Julian Miller and the bodyguard Silas had dispatched hurried back. "Mr. Vinton, the security system in the suite... it crashed. All the recordings from that timeframe are gone."
"Gone?" Silas narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing Anna. "What a coincidence."
Anna clearly missed the icy threat in his tone, deliberately feigning indignation. "What coincidence? Serena must have panicked and destroyed the footage because she was afraid of getting caught!"
Watching her act like a desperate clown, Serena couldn't help but laugh.
"What are you laughing at?" Anna grit her teeth.
Serena lazily lifted her gaze and pulled out her phone. "I'm laughing at your stupidity. Your sheer naïveté."
