Lucille stared at the handsome face on the screen without blinking, clearly addicted.

Nina babbled about Tanner the whole ride-she still wanted to play with him.

Benjamin told her calmly, “You have to go to Sunbeam Daycare tomorrow.”

At the word “daycare”, Nina insisted seriously, “Daddy, da’care close!”

Benjamin said, “It’s not closed.”

Nina puffed out her cheeks and raised her voice. “Close!”

Benjamin didn’t even glance up.

He said flatly, “Not closed.”

Nina huffed, “Daddy, Nina hit!”

Nina froze.

She lowered her raised chubby hand, still fuming.

Not satisfied, she bumped her head lightly against his leg.

Benjamin blinked and said, “I’ll tell—”

Nina cut him off, “Daddy, no talk!”

She was still mad after bumping him.

Nina stayed angry the entire car ride home.

When it was time to get out, Nina didn’t jump down right away.

She tilted her chubby face up at Benjamin. “Daddy, Nina no hit.”

Benjamin nodded in response.

Satisfied, Nina finally got out of the car.

The two walked inside together.

Amelia was already home.

Nina ran over happily and hugged her leg. “Mommy!”

Amelia smiled, “You’re back! Did you have fun at Tanner’s?”

Nina said, “Yes! Many buggies!”

She excitedly told Amelia all about playing with the bugs.
