Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 529

Chapter 529 Were Painfully Direct

But Nina wouldn’t let it go.

She stared down at her chubby little tummy, insisting that Amelia put a bandage on it right away.

Amelia had no other choice, so she grabbed a Band-Aid and stuck it gently over the small scrape.

While Amelia and Stella chatted with Nina, Hugh kept sneaking in spoonfuls of food whenever he got the chance.

It wasn’t until he actually tried feeding her that he realized just how tricky the task really was.

‘Nina, don’t you like the food?” Hugh frowned, watching her barely make any progress eating.

Nina’s mouth was full of food as she mumbled, “Yummy.”

Hugh’s personal chef was truly amazing at cooking.

Stella was extremely picky about everything in life-especially when it came to food.

She’d always been a fussy eater ever since she was little, and her bad mood lately had only made her pickier than ever.

Hugh had gone out of his way to hire the best chef he could find, just to get Stella to eat properly.

The food prepared for Nina tasted absolutely perfect.

Hearing Nina say the food was good, Hugh pressed on, “If it’s yummy, why won’t you swallow it down?”

He was growing genuinely frustrated with how slow Nina ate.

Nina wasn’t like Stella-she never refused food just because it didn’t taste good.

When she liked a meal, she’d open her mouth wide and take bites willingly.

The problem was, once the food was in her mouth, she’d just hold it there and refuse to swallow.

Hugh was on the verge of giving up on feeding her, so Amelia stepped in to help.

She said, “Hugh, just hand her the plate and let her eat by herself. She knows how to do it.”

Amelia held out her hand for the plate. Hugh was already worn out from the struggle, yet he still didn’t listen and hand it over.

He said, “She’s wiggling all over the place right now. She won’t sit still long enough to cat properly, even if we give her the plate.”

“It’s fine,” Amelia said calmly. “If she won’t eat well, we just skip the meal. One skipped dinner won’t hurt her at all.”

Amelia had no problem being firm and letting Nina go hungry for a meal or two.

Still, Hugh looked over at Nina snuggling up to Stella and couldn’t bring himself to be strict.

He didn’t get to see Nina very often, and he was completely soft-hearted toward her every time they met.

Hugh cared about her far too much to make her fend for herself, so he kept trailing behind her, spoon- feeding her bite by bite.

After cuddling with Amelia and Stella on the sofa for a little while, Nina ran off to wander again.

Hugh picked up the plate once more and hurried after her. “Nina, slow down-just one more bite.”

The two were busy running and chasing around the room when the doorbell suddenly rang.

Nina heard the bell and trotted straight over to answer the door.

There was a small button under the doorknob; one press, and the door would unlock automatically.

Nina pressed the button with her chubby little hand and pulled the door open eagerly.

Two women stood outside the entrance.

One was an elegant older lady in a black dress with pearl jewelry, and the other was a beautiful young lady wearing a blue sundress.

The refined lady was Hugh’s mother, Myrna Riley.

The young lady beside her was Lorna.

Both women’s eyes fell straight on Nina, who’d opened the door for them.

Myrna had met Nina once before.

She reached out, stroked Nina’s little cheek, and asked gently, “Do you still remember me?”

Nina thought for a second, then blurted out without hesitation, “Ice cweam?”

Nina’s memory of Myrna was tied to the ice cream-shaped pillow she’d gotten from her.

She loved that pillow, and she loved real ice cream even more-all she wanted right then was a treat.

Myrna smiled with warm amusement at being remembered. “Sweet girl, I didn’t know you’d be here today. so I didn’t bring you any ice cream. I’ll buy you some next time I come, okay?”

Nina hesitated and didn’t agree right away.

She still wanted her ice cream here and now.

As Nina racked her little brain thinking it over, the others inside the house heard Myrna’s voice and stood up to greet her.

They all exchanged polite hellos with her.
