Chapter 156 She’s Finished
Third-person POV:
“What did Maris say?”
In the tavern, the werewolves who were listening excitedly leaned forward and urged him to continue.
But the storyteller suddenly fell silent, dragging out the suspense.
Everyone around him grew anxious. “What did she say? Just tell us!”
“Yeah! If you don’t say it, I’ll punch you!”
One wolf bared his fangs and let out a low growl The other drinkers quickly stepped back, afraid of getting caught in a fight.
The man sighed. “Maris said…”
“Laila, you had it coming!”
He raised his voice. “Doesn’t that mean she’s saying someone finally exposed Laila’s true face?”
The crowd gasped. “So, Laila really slept with eight she-wolves at once? Does she even have that kind of stamina?”
“Why not? She’s an alpha wolf!”
“Oh, damn, I’d sleep with her too. I’m big enough to satisfy her!”
“Damn it! Mine’s bigger!”
The topic quickly went off track. The wolves started arguing about who was bigger. A few of them even dropped their pants right there to compare.
The winners laughed loudly. The losers turned red and ran away.
It was said that in the next month, the number of he-wolves visiting wolf healers to ask for “size enhancement” remedies increased tenfold,
In this storm of rumors, some people cared about their own pride. Others cared about Samuel’s reputation.
Soon, a group of men signed a joint protest against Samuel marrying Laila,
Martha clenched her fists. “This must be those scumbags from the Enclaws!”
“Not necessarily. It could also be Estelle from Frostfang Pack…” Faulkner said with a serious expression.
Irene held onto the silver moon pendant at her chest, her face pale. “But Ms. Laila just left. She’s not here right now. What are we going to do?”
The night before, Laila had received a letter from Samuel. He said something important required her to go to Lunaris.
He also wrote that once she reached Wexfordshire, Woodrow would meet her there.
Laila had left that same night.
And now, this had happened.
“What should we do? Maybe we should just fight them!” Martha suddenly stood up. “Let those scum see the strength of Silvermoon Pack!”
Irene grabbed her arm. “How old are you? Why are you still thinking about fighting? Is this the time for that? Silvermoon Pack has only just been rebuilt. Our elders, women, and children combined still can’t compare to Ironclaw Pack or Frostfang Pack!”
Martha glared. “Then what do you suggest? Ms. Laila went to Lunaris, and we don’t know when she’ll return! And that letter from Prince Vance… Now that I think about it, it feels strange. What if it was a trap? What if he heard the rumors and doesn’t want to marry her anymore?”
