My Alpha Wants Two Lunas I'm Done novel Chapter 51

Chapter 51 Berating Maris

Third-person POV:

Holt quickly looked around, but still didn’t see Laila.

He frowned, thinking he must have imagined it.

How could Laila appear at the Vagen front lines?

She hadn’t enlisted.

As Holt scanned the area, Maris stepped forward, chest lifted, her wolf ears pricking up.

Unexpectedly, her reputation had already reached the Vagen battlefield.

Thinking this, she let out a bright laugh.

“Generals, you flatter me. How could Maris compare to you? The victory at Lovanfall was merely luck, not because I am especially brave or capable.”

Her words left everyone stunned.

Several commanders exchanged subtle glances.

Of course, they had heard of Maris. She had her first-class merit at Lovanfall, helping secure the treaty with Solantia.

But that treaty had barely been inked before Solantian soldiers appeared at Vagen. The true nature of her “first-class merit” was hard to define.

More importantly, just moments ago, they had been praising Holt’s Luna-Laila of Silvermoon Pack!

And now this she-wolf suddenly jumped in with false humility.

The atmosphere turned awkward.

Finneas completely ignored Maris.

His broad hand slammed onto Holt’s shoulder, his voice booming, “Smell your mate’s scent yet? Haven’t seen her in ages. Hurry up and go greet her!”

As if on cue, the generals who had been standing around the sand table, partly blocking the view, stepped aside with smiles.

Chapter 51 Berating Maris

A tall, slender figure appeared in the flickering firelight.

Laila.

Her long golden hair was tied high, her posture composed, like a blade sheathed yet still holding a cold gleam.

“Laila?

“You… Why are you here?”

Holt shouted, his pupils shrinking. He could hardly believe his eyes or his nose.

Shock surged into a more complex emotion-the sharp, unfamiliar chill of her presence made him, a well-known alpha for his own strength, feel a twinge of instinctive caution.

Maris’s face changed instantly.

Her earlier pride froze into a pallid, awkward hue.

She quickly realized who the generals had been complimenting.

Instinctively, she grabbed Holt’s arm and stepped toward Laila, aiming to assert herself. “So, Laila, you’ve come to the Vagen battlefield as well. But why didn’t you tell anyone that you and Holt dissolved your mate bond?”

She paused deliberately, amber eyes glinting with malice. “Could it be that you can’t let go of your old feelings for him?”

Laila finally lifted her gaze from the sand table, coldly fixing her eyes on Maris.

There was no anger, no sadness-only a bottomless, frozen abyss.

Yet only Laila could feel it; deep in her mind, her wolf spirit Nita was roaring in desperate to tear the throat from that false she-wolf.

rage,

“Dissolve the bond? Why?”

Finneas’s roar shattered the silence. He glared at Holt, gray-white eyebrows furrowed.

Maris quickly spoke. “After the victory at Lovanfall, the king recognized me and personally ordered that I be allowed to become General Helt’s second Luna. Laila disagreed, so she voluntarily requested the bond be dissolved.”

“Is that so?”

Laila could no longer hold back.
