Chapter 92 You Can’t Kill Me!
Third-person POV:
Maris stood calmly, wrapped in an old but clean white cloak.
She saw Laila charging at her, but she didn’t step aside. Instead, her lips twisted into a mocking smile.

“I’ve heard everything,” she said. Her voice was rough, like ice cracking. “You were waiting at the mountain’s base. You watched them drag me into hell. Laila … you really wanted me dead, didn’t you?”
She stepped closer, madness and triumphant flickering in her eyes.
“Do you think I’d kill myself? No. I’ll live longer and better than all of you. Want me dead? It won’t be that easy.”
Laila stopped in front of her. Her golden eyes narrowed sharply.
She let out a soft laugh. There was no warmth in it.
“Killing you isn’t hard,” Laila said calmly. “I could do it right now.”
Her right arm shifted instantly.
Silver fur burst out. Her fingers became sharp claws that sliced through the air as they aimed straight for Maris’s throat.
But Maris didn’t dodge.
Instead, she suddenly tore open the front of her robe in public.
Her breasts were small and firm, but everyone’s attention was locked onto the faint silver mark glowing under the moonlight.
The mark spread from her heart to her collarbone. It was shaped like an upside-down crescent moon, filled with ancient runes.
Laila’s claws stopped just before touching Maris’s skin.
Not just her-every werewolf soldier who saw it, including Holt and Samuel, who had rushed over, turned pale.
It was the Moon Goddess Sacrificial Mark.

Only by offering one’s soul, freedom, and afterlife to the Moon Goddess in the Stillmoon Sanctum could someone gain that protection.
With that mark, the bearer was protected by the Moon Goddess’s law during the contract period, usually five years.
No werewolf could kill the bearer. Doing so would mean betraying the oracle. They would be forever rejected by moonlight, and even their wolf spirit would be destroyed.
Maris saw Laila’s pupils shrink. Holt’s face go pale, and Samuel’s ash-gray eyes narrow. She burst out laughing, almost hysterical.
She didn’t care that she was naked in front of everyone. Instead, she puffed out her chest proudly and walked slowly around the camp.
She made sure every soldier saw the silver crescent on her skin.
